Boa Vida 6, Seas the Day, is a privately owned holiday home in Boa Vida Estate, Ponta Malongane, only 13 km north of Ponta D'Ouro. It has another identical unit next door, and they both share a deck. They are built on a sand dune, with a phenomenal 180 degree view of the ocean. The beach is within walking distance, down a pathway from the units. The pool is not part of the house, but belongs to the hotel on site. Our guests are welcome to use it

The space
Our views are phenomenal, and whale and dolphin watching is a real treat for many of our guests. During breeding season, turtles can be seen on the beaches laying their eggs.

Guest access
Ponta Do Ouro and Ponta Malongane does not have public transport systems. Some of the lodges do have their own border transfers, and some of the locals have their own 'shapas', but be ware, you may be put into the back of a bakkie (!!) We HIGHLY recommend that you bring your own 4x4.

Southern Mozambique can be confusing, as it is not a 'built up' area like Kosi Bay/Manguzi. The only tarred roads are in Ponta Do Ouro, but the roads from the border to Ponta do Ouro are soft sandy beach roads. The roads from Ponta Do Ouro to Ponta Malongane are also soft sandy beach roads. If you have never been to the area, this can be intimidating.

There is a hotel on site, with swimming pool, bar and games facilities, as well as restaurant. Depending on the time of year, these are functional and available for our private home guests to use.

Other things to note
DISCLAIMER:

Please bring your own:

Beach and bath towels
5l drinking water
Toiletries including toilet paper and soap, mozzie spray etc

Southern Mozambique is rustic- the sea air doesnt allow appliances to last as long as we hope. The water is borehole water, and the local power station cannot keep up with the demand, especially in peak season. A holiday in Moz is different to the norm- be prepared to rough it up! We cannot help that things may stop working, but should this happen we will try our best to get John to assist with replacing or fixing the items. We are not there to witness issues ourselves- please be so kind as to let us know should something be amiss, so that we can replace it for our future guests.

Ponta Malongane is home to many kids who wave excitedly as you pass them. If you have the space, brig some old clothing or toys to bless them with. Even a simple sweet will put the biggest smiles on their faces.

4x4 or 4x2 with dif lock is needed to get to our houses. The roads are soft beach sand roads. Border transfers are available but are by no means luxury or easy to come by such as in South africa. There are no taxi services like Uber. We always recommend that you do take your own 4x4, because you won't be limited to exploration and you will be able to get around much easier without the possibility of getting stuck.

Tyres should be deflated to -800 bar to be able to drive on the soft sand.

Hello! We are Debbie & David, We live in the leafy suburb of Kloof, Durban with our 2 kids and 5 dogs. David is the business-minded one and I am no doubt the creative half, who loves decor, design, video editing, most recently online shopping (!!) and Pinterest. David, on the other hand, thrives on brandy and coke, property, rugby, and braaiing. Our relationship started at the very beginning of Boa Vida Estate, where David (a then timeshare salesman) found himself selling the homes to excited buyers. This was the beginning of our career in property. It has been a good 8 years and we now find ourselves involved with real estate on many different levels... But I wont be content until I get myself my loft apartment- my dream of a minimalist and Scandinavian rental space! For now, visit our home in Ponta Malongane, Southern Mozambique...
