My cottage is tucked away within walking distance of the centre of Shaftesbury in Dorset. It's near the site of the historic Shaftesbury Abbey, Park Walk with it’s views over the rolling Dorset countryside, Gold Hill - made famous by the much loved 1970s Hovis Bread TV commercial - and the hospital. The cottage makes an excellent base from which to explore the borders of beautiful Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset, where the countryside, walking, cycling and dining out opportunities are fantastic.

The space
Great for couples, friends, colleagues, individual travellers or for a small family.

The space is a characterful little cottage that comprises a double bedroom upstairs with ensuite facilities, plus a cosy single bedroom at ground level that has ensuite facilities too. The single bedroom leads off the kitchen, it’s really quite small, and is all the better for it! In the double bedroom, there is just enough space to set-up a travel cot as well. Each ensuite has an electric shower and toilet, I must stress that the cottage does NOT have baths.

A cosy living room with underfloor heating and a log burner plus a bright kitchen complete the piece. Facilities include an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washer / dryer. There is a small freezer compartment in the fridge plus a range of cooking implements, crockery and glasses. A Smart TV with terrestrial channels and wifi broadband connectivity allow you to keep in touch with the outside world.

A parking space is available at the cottage and it’s perfect for cars. Large vehicles, such as camper vans, will need to be parked in a pay-and-display public car park which is near the town centre and within walking distance - this is as the lane to the cottage is narrow with a few bends.

Finally, a few words of caution… the cottage is cosy and has low ceilings in some areas, so taller guests will need to bear this in mind. Those over 6ft / 1800mm will need to stoop (or adopt suitable protective measures!).

Guest access
Guests will have the entire house to themselves and can access the house using the key lock box. The location of the lock box and unique code will be sent to you 48 hours before your stay so please keep an eye on your inbox.

Other things to note

I’m a practical sort who loves having fun with my family. When I'm not doing that ...I relax away by creating fused glass treasure and spend a lot of my time in the fresh air between Dorset & Pembrokeshire. As a host, I like to make sure that my guests relax and simply enjoy the beautiful area around the cottage. I will share local knowledge and supply locally produced tea, coffee and treats that are tailored to my guests preferences... l love running my cosy little cottage as it’s been a dream that eventually came true x
