High Pike is a spacious cottage attached to the 17th century Grade II listed High Greenrigg House. It was originally a barn and still retains the two story high barn doorway with its sandstone arch. There are two en-suite bedrooms, a king sized 4 poster on the first floor and a double on the ground. These have a shower room and a bathroom en-suite respectively. There's also an open plan kitchen (fully equipped), dining and living space on the first floor with views to the Northern Fells.

The space
High Pike cottage is part of the 17th century Grade II listed High Greenrigg House. Although largely rebuilt in the 1970s, it blends in with the 350 year old Brae Fell next door and the farm house beyond. The two storey arched barn doorway, now glazed, provides the central feature with a staircase up to the main living area with views across to High Pike fell. The living area is a cosy open plan space containing a fully equipped kitchen, sitting and dining space with both central heating and a real flame gas fire. The majority of windows are south facing giving views across to the Northern Fells, part of the Lake District National Park, a World Heritage Site.

Guest access
The cottage is completely self-contained. You have full and private access to all facilities including both bedrooms (both en-suite) and the living area (open-plan kitchen, dining area and living area). Entry to the cottage is direct from the car park. A utility room is on the left before you enter the very light and open stair well with its large stone arched barn doorway. There is a seating area and a double bedroom with en-suite bath room on the ground floor. In addition to the living space upstairs there is a king size four poster bed with en-suite shower room.

Other things to note
High Pike is one of three cottages on the High Greenrigg House site. The 2 other cottages are Brae Fell (3 bed) and Swallows Rest (1 bed).

Caldbeck, England, United Kingdom

High Greenrigg House and Brae Fell cottage are located in a quiet and peaceful area in the North Western corner of the Lake District National Park. This is a World Heritage site. Our nearest neighbour is 400m away. We are surrounded by a common and fields where sheep and cattle graze. We are also less than an hour away from another World Heritage Site: Hadrian's Wall. We have direct access to the Northern Fells. A short walk down a very quiet lane brings you to the bottom of Brae Fell and access to some 23 'Wainright' summits without a single road to cross. The nearest village is Caldbeck which has a pub (Oddfellows Arms), a village shop, two tea rooms and several craft/wool shops. The famous huntsman John Peel is buried in the churchyard. There are four larger towns just half an hour away where full services and facilities can be found: Cockermouth, Carlisle, Keswick and Penrith.
