Our comfortable, elegant, 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home is in a family neighborhood in San Luis Obispo, the heart of California's lovely central coast. Our home is minutes to downtown but surrounded by open space and a short drive to beaches and wineries.

The space

This three bedroom, two and a half bath home is in a lovely family neighborhood in San Luis Obispo. Minutes from downtown but surrounded by open space and vineyards, our backyard has a lovely hillside view and is very private. The house is on a seasonal creek and borders a park with tennis courts and playground, amid hiking and walking/biking trails. The house has high ceilings, and an open floor plan which includes a gourmet kitchen, living/dining room, and a family/media room on the ground floor. The master bedroom is large, bright and sunny, with a balcony that looks out over the hills. The master bath has a jacuzzi soaking tub and double sinks and a large walk-in shower. There is wireless internet access and an internet phone for long distance calls (US only) We have two large flat-screen TVs (one in master bedroom and one in family room) with Roku/Netflix and premium channel access.

Beds: The master bedroom has a king size Tempurpedic that can be made up as two twin beds if desired. A second bedroom has a queen size traditional bed and the third bedroom has a full size pull-out couch with Tempurpedic type mattress.

Pleasant outdoor spaces, both in front and back, provide plenty of space for outdoor dining and enjoying the delightful views and great weather here on the central coast.

San Luis Obispo has been called one of the happiest places on earth. It's an historic mission town set among rolling hills halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. We are just minutes away from a dozen beautiful and distinct beaches. Easy day tripping distance south to Santa Barbara and north to Hearst Castle and Big Sur.

San Luis Obispo is in one of California's best wine producing areas and is home to several dozen wineries. The vineyards pictured in the print on my listing are on the backside of the hill you see from the rear windows of our home. There are more than a dozen good wineries within a three or four mile radius of our home.

San Luis Obispo offers more than 6,500 acres of protected open space for hiking, biking trails, and just generally enjoying the great outdoors. There are several beautiful golf courses and lovely beaches nearby. You’ll also find waterfalls, sea caves, and hillsides covered in seasonal wildflowers. We are 45 minutes from the Hearst Castle and just a couple of hours from the Big Sur area and Carmel. Santa Barbara is also well within day trip distance at about an hour and a half away.

In addition to the nature scene, San Luis Obispo visitors will enjoy the historic downtown and interesting local landmarks. Tree-lined streets, a charming shopping district and historic buildings with outdoor dining, coffee houses, and galleries. On Thursdays, an open-air Farmers' Market fills four blocks of the downtown. Buy just-picked produce and sample a variety of specialities from local restaurants, or stroll the many arts and crafts booths while you are entertained by local performers.

San Luis Obispo County is home to many talented singers and musicians. The active SLO County nightlife, with its many cafes, bars, restaurants and cruises offering live music, allows musicans to earn a living here throughout the year. In the summertime the city of San Luis Obispo hosts free outdoor concerts each Friday night in the Mission Plaza. You will find multiple other music venues offering live music on any given night. Our local performing arts center draws internationally known performers and shows. Pick up a copy of The New Times, available free in many locations throughout the county, for information on concerts, events, art shows, festivals, etc.

Come and see why USA Today, Oprah Winfrey, and Dan Buettner, author of Thrive: Finding Happiness the Blue Zones Way, named San Luis Obispo as one of the happiest places on earth!

We loved the home. It is beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. Dana gave us great recommendations. Dana's sister met at the house and walked us through. When I left a library book at the house, Dana graciously shipped it to me.

We've just returned from a truly wonderful week in San Luis Obispo. Four people (two couples) thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful home which served as our base for wine tasting in Paso Robles and Los Olivos, excursions up the coast to Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria and Simeon, as well as enjoying wonderful restaurants around SLO. Dana's home is beautifully decorated, spacious, fully equipped, comfortable, immaculate, and has a lovely, landscaped backyard ideal for relaxing in the evening and gazing at the stars late at night. In addition, she was so welcoming and accommodating that we felt right at home. We've done (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) for years, but this was our first airbnb experience, and it worked perfectly. Every one of our questions was answered and the logistics worked flawlessly. Just a great experience and vacation. When we return to SLO (which we definitely will!) we will check to see if Dana's home is available.

My son was getting married and I needed to have a special place to rest my head. This was the perfect place. A wonderful warm home in San Luis Obispo. Close to everything I needed. The yard was great to see outside at night. My Host Dana was unbelievable, there was nothing she couldn't help me with which made my whole stay easier. She couldn't have been nicer. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay in such a beautiful home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our month's stay in this inviting, comfortable home. It is located in a quiet subdivision on the south side of SLO and convienient to shopping. The property backs up to a green private area of the city park, with stream and nice walking paths. Our "hostess" Dana Fiore is most gracious, had everything ready to go when we arrived.......most enjoyable owner and property. We would definately rent this property again if we were to return to SLO. Curt & Claudette Tollefsrud............Nisswa, MN
