Exquisite conversion of a grand gothic school set in the Norfolk village of Ringland, managed by Timeoutescapes. With rolling fields, meandering footpaths and a local pub close by, it is the perfect balance of country life. Versatile for up to 20 guests (price is for 16 guests-extra guests £25 per guest-per night). Private gardens and heated pool*. Vaulted receptions to entertain, kitchen/breakfast with a warming aga, snug/tv room, grand dining room with a table fit for King Arthur!

The space
The Setting
The Old School enjoys a village setting, a few minutes walk from the pub and church, whilst having views and access to rolling fields and the Norfolk countryside. The house is set in its private gardens with front and rear lawns. There is a raised terrace area with seating and BBQ facilities and a heated pool (April - Oct). During your stay, you will have exclusive use of our home, pool and gardens.

The House
An extremely impressive and innovative conversion with excellent attention to detail and layout. You'll find a large vaulted drawing room with full height windows, wood burner, grand piano and space for the whole group. Off the Drawing room is the Snug/Smart TV Cinema room with its own cloakroom. The dinning room is also vaulted with a large round table under a majestic 18 candle candelabra. The Kitchen has a 4 oven Aga plus a separate
4 ring electric oven and hob, large American F/F with ice maker, dishwasher, 2 Nespresso Coffee machines (taking original coffee pods), 4 slice toaster, an electric and stove top kettles, butler sink, breakfast table and chairs and ample crockery to entertain the whole group.
Some complimentary tea and coffee and general condiments are provided along with some extra complementary anti bacterial cleaning products to help you get started until your shopping arrives.
There's a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There's a downstairs shower room/wc which is adjacent to one of the double bedrooms (ideal for those who find stairs difficult).
Upstairs you'll find 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 en-suite) and galleried landings and walkways. A further 2 bedrooms and a bathroom are in the annex which is adjacent to the side porch.

Sleeping Arrangements
The Old School has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms in the main house and 2 bedrooms and one bathroom in the annex above the garage.
The bedrooms are arranged as follows

Bed 1 (sleeps 2) - Kingsized bed + large ensuite
Bed 2 (sleeps 2 + 1 or 2 extra) - Double bed + double sofa bed
Bed 3 (sleeps 2) - Double bed + ensuite
Bed 4 (sleeps 2) - Double bed
Bed 5 (sleeps 3) - Bunk beds + single bed
Bed 6 (sleeps 2) - Double bed (on the ground floor adjacent to a shower room)
Large sofa in the snug (sleeps + 1 extra)
Annex
Bed 7 (sleeps 2 + 1 extra) - Kingsized bed + single sofa bed
Bed 8 (sleeps 1)
Therefore we have 16 bed spaces + 4 extra available on sofa beds/sofa. The sofa beds/sofa are only made up for extra guests.
(NOTE- We charge £25 per extra guest per night for guest numbers over 16).

The Pool
On the terrace there is a small swimming pool (20ft x 10ft) that is heated to 28°c. A great place to unwind after a long walk.
(Note - Due to current energy crisis, there is an added surcharge of £175 for heating of the pool.

The Location
Ringland is located just 15 minutes drive from Norwich and 40 minute drive from the North Norfolk Coast. The village is renowned for its local walks and countryside.

Guest access
For the duration of the booked stay, the entire property and gardens are available.

As from July 2020, we are following the Airbnb guidelines for enhanced cleaning of our home between stays. Information on recommendations for the enhanced cleaning regime can be found on the Airbnb website.

We are asking all our guests to help us protect our future guests and Jenny, our housekeeper. This is especially important when we have same day change overs.

On your departure day, check out is 11:00am.

At 08:00am on day off departure and before you leave, please may we ask you to open all the windows in our home and turn down the duvet to air the beds.

Ringland is a picturesque rural village in Norfolk, situated in the valley of The River Wensum approximately 7 miles north-west of Norwich. The village offers The Parson Woodforde pub and restaurant in the next village which is a pleasant 30 - 40 minute walk from the house. There are three golf courses at Taverham, Drayton and Lenwade. Not forgetting the award winning Roarr! Dinosaur Park with life-size dinosaur trail, animal enclosures, adventure playground and deer park in Lenwade, too.
The historic city of Norwich has a modern cultural feel with beautiful heritage, dynamic nightlife, sophisticated shopping and mouth-watering restaurants. Chapelfield Shopping Centre offers high end shopping, whilst the Norwich Lanes won the greatest British high street of the year with its many independent and unique businesses including shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Norwich is the most complete medieval city in Britain and boasts two cathedrals as well as the castle with stunning architecture.
The River Wensum flows throughout the city and offers boat rental and various pubs situated along the river itself.
