Enjoy the charm of historic downtown Lexington with a modern design. Located in the 600 block of West Main Street, located in the midst of downtown’s exciting renaissance, surrounded by both new and established commercial, retail, and entertainment.

The space

Not far from where Lexington was established in 1782 on the banks of the
Town Branch of South Elkhorn Creek, is a fascinating new place to stay: the Newpast Town Lofts, which integrate the charm of historic downtown Lexington with the drama and convenience of modern design.

You will be saying in the master suite, it is up a stairway from the kitchen and has shaded, open-air balconies on both sides. You’ll love the airy feeling in this wonderful space.

Guest access

Perhaps the most striking feature of the Newpast Town Lofts is the private, rooftop terrace that crowns each one making every unit feel like a penthouse. From there, the views of downtown are spectacular and
include the Henry Clay Monument, Rupp Arena, the Lexington Financial Center, Victorian Square, and the Hyatt Regency and Hilton hotels, all of which are within easy walking distance.

Interaction with guests

For this rental you would have the house to yourself, although this is our house we plan trips away when we have requests, a great way for us to go and visit another place!

Other things to note

The Newpast Town lofts have been built to be respectful of the environment and to the highest standards following the principles of the EarthCraft program. The Newpast Townlofts exceed the minimum requirements of this "green" building checklist that serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable, environmentally sustainable homes which reduce utility bills and protect their inhabitants as well as the environment.

Among the green aspects of the Newpast Town Lofts are the use throughout of sustainably manufactured materials, energy efficient systems, resource efficient building materials, geothermal heating and cooling, passive solar design techniques, and the addition of new specimen trees to maintain the existing wood on the property’s boundaries.

Our overnight stay at Sarah's was great! The house was very clean and cozy. We had everything we needed for the night. She left us the cutest note and was very thoughtful. Penelope the cat was adorable :) much nicer than staying in a hotel for the night

Sarah and Will were communicative hosts. We appreciated the detailed instructions and the ease of getting in the house with a lock box, as well as flexibility in check-in and check-out times. My girl friends and I initially had issues with the cleanliness of the house. We spoke with Will and who was immediately responsive. We came to an agreement where my friends and I cleaned for an hour in exchange for a partial reimbursement. I believe that both parties felt it was fair. The house has beautiful character and plenty of space to lounge. The neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed sitting around the table in the sun room in the back. We also were able to walk to many wonderful restaurant options.

We had to travel to Lexington on business. It was our first time working with this service. What a pleasant surprise. Error free, easy check in, comfortable surroundings and a quiet neighborhood for us to relax during our very busy time. Sarah had the most charming home and back yard area. We could not have been happier. We will definitely be back as we travel to Lexington every year!

My husband and I came up to Lexington with a few friends and spent the week at Sarah and Will's home. Sarah was very responsive throughout the booking process, and was sure to check in once we got into town. The home is lovely. It's full of personal touches that almost made it feel like a pinterest page in a good way... I may have taken a few ideas home with me. As far as the neighborhood is concerned, we couldn't have asked for a better place to say. It's in a nice part of town with a healthy mix of old southern mansions and slightly more modern single family home. It's only a few blocks away from downtown, and the neighbors were friendly. We were able to go out and explore Lexington on foot without concern. At one point, we even made friends with a very formal wedding party who were all riding bicycles. Everything about the stay felt very much like staying with friends or friends of friends. There is even a very friendly cat and 4 laying hens on the property, and we were invited to help ourselves to the eggs, which were delicious! I would definitely recommend this listing to anyone.

Sarah was so easy to work with and flexible. We felt like we were staying at a friend's house! As stated in the listing everything was so cozy and comfortable--but I must add convenient! We were able to walk everywhere and loved that they had a couple of bikes available to ride around the town--so close to restaurants, bars, the farmer's market, beautiful homes and gardens. The house itself was very comfortable for our family (my husband, me, 14 yo twins, and 3 adult children)--plenty of space and amenities. We especially enjoyed the fresh eggs, beer in the fridge and the fact that we didn't need to leave our pup behind. It was also nice to have a flexible check-in/out time since we were coming from NC and uncertain about our schedule. Absolutely perfect experience in a great town...we came for our niece's wedding, but would return to check out more of Lexington. When we do, we'll definitely call Sarah and Will to see if the house is available!

Sarah and Will's home was a great choice for my family. We were visiting Lexington for my son's graduation from UK. There are three large bedrooms that can easily accommodate 6 people and plenty of great living space including a sitting room, indoor sun-porch and a huge deck. The chickens in the yard provided us with delicious eggs and Will supplied a fridge-full of great local beers. The house is nicely situated in the historic district north of downtown and is about 15 minutes walk from Rupp arena. There are great bars, cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood.
