I always love meeting new people and learning their background stories. Since Fred is a former chef, he has challenged my food palette, but so has our travel adventures: so, cultural foods and easy listening, "world" music are personal favorites. Since hospitality is a co-adventure of ours, here is a bit of our story:
Your inn keepers, Fred and Cindy Palmer, chose the name “Peppers Bridge Bed and Breakfast” as it encompasses several historic location markers: Peppers Bridge Road (our address location) and the adjacent Peppers Bridge Winery; in addition, our one acre lushly-landscaped property is nestled between two bridges , one which is named – you guessed it – “Pepper’s Bridge.” Locals tell fond tales of driving over the old wooden version that linked this Southside farming community. So, as second owners of this homestead property, we wanted to preserve some local history.
The Palmer family – children included – remodeled the original “art studio/workshop” transforming it into a quaint little guest house for visiting friends and relatives. Ultimately, they were encouraged to extend their doors to others seeking a friendly and comfortable place to stay. As the family enjoys world travel, their guest house or “The Cottage” is decorated with artifacts from some of their adventures (Uganda, Japan, Haiti, Belize, Mexico, Middle East, Canada, England, France, China...). The Palmers so enjoy hosting people from other locations, building lasting relationships that have led to memorable travel opportunities. Therefore, the Palmers and Peppers Bridge Bed and Breakfast bid you to come and enjoy Walla Walla Valley at its best!
