This detached property is situated in a private road overlooking Porthmeor Beach. It is light and spacious with a large and very comfortable living area. There is an outside terrace with sea views.
Parking for 2 cars on chained off parking bay on private road. Bedding for 1 x double bed and 3 x single beds is provided - and 1 x bath towel and 1 x hand towel for each guest.

The space
The entire home is bright and spacious. It is well furnished and the kitchen has everything you need for a wonderful holiday. There is a washing machine, tumble dryer and outside washing line and hooks for hanging up wet suits after a busy day surfing. Surfing lessons can be booked at the Surf school on Porthmeor Beach which is a 3 minute walk away on a paved road down a hill. There are wonderful restaurants and cafes all within easy walking distance. The hill to the beach and town is fairly steep so those with mobility problems may find this difficult.

Steps down to entrance and open plan living area is split level with a few steps. It is not suitable for crawling toddlers or elderly with walking difficulties.

A BBQ (bring your own charcoal) is also provided on the terrace.

Bedding for 1 x double bed and 3 x single beds is provided as well as 1 x bath towel and 1 x hand towel provided for each guest.

There is a small welcome pack of essentials such as tea, coffee, milk and sugar. There is however a local shop 2 minutes walk away, a CO-OP Shop a 5 minute drive away. There is also a Tesco Supermarket which you will pass on the way into St Ives.
There is also a large Asda Supermarket in Hayle which is the town before St Ives.

The property overlooks Porthmeor Beach with sea views. The Beach is a 3 minute walk down the hill. Porthmeor Beach has 2 wonderful beach cafe's, a surf school and has lifeguards during the summer season. It has many rock pools for exploring when the tide is out.
The main harbour is a 10 minute walk away where there are shops, more restaurants and cafes.
There are 4 main beaches in St Ives, Porthmeor Beach, Porthgwiddan, Porthminster and the Harbour as well as many other smaller coves.
The property is just off the main Cornwall Coastal Path.
If you are feeling energetic, then you can walk along the Coastal Path to Zennor (about 4 hour walk - fairly strenuous in places) and the wonderful Tinners Arms pub, who can then order you a taxi to drop you back (or there is a bus if you get your timing right).
St Ives is the home of artists and has exceptional light. There are many galleries and is also home to the Tate Modern Gallery - the property is about 4 mins walk from here. There is also an art school if you would like to book yourself some classes.

Hi I love being able to offer guests the opportunity to stay in either our holiday home in St Ives, Cornwall or in our annexe, Grandad's cottage, in Taunton, Somerset. I am married to Chris. We both work from home so I am always available, either in person or by phone or text. We have 3 grown up children who variously live away, at home or are at Uni. Our St Ives house is too far away for me to meet you in person, and is looked after by my lovely friend and cleaner Becca who makes sure everything is lovely and ready for your arrival. I do the same for Grandad's cottage and I love to say hello to my interesting guests, but then I leave you to it unless you need me. I allow dogs at the cottage as we have a large paddock that can be used. We have two very friendly rescue dogs of our own who look forward to playing with any visitors. I will send you all the information you need on booking - but please feel free to ask anything before you book. Self check in at both properties.
