★ THE APARTMENT ★
The apartment is sunny with a large window.

5 blocks from the subway, you will need 20 minutes to go to Time Square, and a few more on the same line to Chelsea, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Ground Zero ...

This historical area is the perfect place to enjoy Harlem special flavor: Jazz clubs, nice restaurants and its friendly and vibrant neighborhood. Astor row is one of the stellar architectural landmarks in Harlem. It is located near Sylvia's Restaurant of Harlem, the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, the former home of Langston Hughes, and other Harlem landmarks.

Take the 2 or 3 train to either 125 street stop or 135th stop as the place is equidistant from those stations.
If you are traveling from JFK, just take the M60 Bus from the airport to 125th Street and 5th Avenue.

What a great stay I had. HB was very kind and laid-back. The location is quiet, safe, clean and a great location. You can walk to the subway within about 2-3 minutes and there are tons of delicious restaurants along the way. Highly recommended.

Hb's place is located in a historic area of Harlem. The area has a fantastic vibe to it. It is 7 minutes walk from a subway station, and the line goes to mid-town, lower Manhattan, Bronx and Brooklyn so you can easily get around. Hb was a good host and it was a pleasure meeting him. Communication was good. Unfortunately, the heating system in the bedroom makes clanky noises, so as a lite sleeper I had to sleep with ear plugs. It also turned off a few times. Hb has an electric heater but I didn't know that the first time it happened and got sick.

The HB's studio was just what we needed with my girlfriend, a small place where we could be there for a few hours during the day. We were able to make use of the kitchen and washing machine which were two things that interested us for the amount of days we were going to be in NY. The place is the same as shown in the photos of the publication. We loved the neighborhood, a quaint and peaceful place. We only had one drawback with the heating system. It made a lot of noise, so much that it woke us up several times throughout the night. And unfortunately the only reason we would not go back to the studio.

Although I didn't get to meet Hb he did make sure I was able to get into his place without any problems and checked in on me via text. The place was adequate for my purposes of needing a quiet place while in the city for work. The neighbourhood is outstanding, and I've always enjoyed it.

HB was fantastic. He greeted us at the door and was very welcoming. The apartment is cozy and comfortable as advertised, and is a great place to come back to and rest after touring the city. It's also right in the heart of Harlem, and only steps away from several great restaurants. I recommend staying at HB's apartment 100%, and the bonus is his pleasant demeanor. Thank you HB.
