This wood and glass home was designed and built by a Frank Lloyd Wright protege. It is quiet, nestled in the trees, and just a few blocks to the world famous Wind N Sea Beach. We live along the bike path for easy access to anywhere in La Jolla.

Jay and Torrie have impeccable taste which reflects in their welcoming home, tranquil landscaping and relaxing patio areas. Kind of like when you walk into a home and it feels like it is wrapping it's arms around you. Maybe it was Oreo the cat and Sophie the dog who greeted us as if we were family. We went on walks twice daily with Sophie ( not required) on the walking paths , down to the beautiful beach and downtown. Very quiet and relaxing. Loved the wind chimes, beautiful flowers and succulents on this property. Perfect location. Walking distance to the ocean, great restaurants, downtown, park and fun coffee shops. We could go on and on and on. No need to look at any other listings. This place is the Crème De La Crème...the Best of the Best! looking forward to a return visit.

Great quiet location. Near the village and the beach, but not too close to a busy street. Great house in a beautiful setting. Hosts were gracious and accessible. Would stay again!

Response from Jay:
Kevin, It was great having your family enjoy our home, and I hope you'll consider us again next year when you feel like thawing out from your Wisconsin winter.

This La Jolla home is spacious and well-appointed, but also has an incredibly homey and distinctively California feel. Sophie (the dog) and Oreo (the cat) were well-behaved, warm and fun additions to our stay. The house sits on a corner lot, so there are only neighbors on one side. While it boasts tons of windows, it is very private, and there are multiple outdoor spaces beautifully decorated with succulents and other plants. We took the walking trail in the back of the house to the downtown Bird Rock area which has plenty of shops and restaurants. It was maybe a 15-20 minute leisurely walk--perfect for mornings and afternoons. In the evenings, we preferred to take an Uber into downtown La Jolla and generally drove to the nearby beaches. Jay was extremely responsive and friendly and we had any questions answered right away. The master suite takes up the entire upstairs and has a large bathroom with a separate shower and tub. Downstairs, there is a large bedroom that is equally appealing as the master, but with a smaller bathroom right across the hall. The third bedroom is small, but very cute with a twin-sized bed and trundle pull-out. I stayed here only with my husband, but this would be a great house for a family or friends. We hope to return!

This house is beautiful and in a wonderful, quiet little neighborhood within walking distance to the beach. There's a bike path behind the house that offers a nice walk to La Jolla village. We enjoyed this place so, so much. We had the pleasure of meeting Jay and his wife, they are an absolute delight. We would stay here again in a heart beat. Thank you so much Jay! We hope to see you again!

My Wife and I have lived in this home for 34 years and love the neighborhood because of its close proximity to the ocean and to La Jolla shopping and restaurants. We are both commercial property managers in the San Diego area. We love to travel and are sport enthusiasts. We have two boys that are grown and out of the house.
