We are renting out our converted microbus on our small farm. The bus has a double bed, counter, writing desk, small fridge, captains chair and storage space. It's parked next to our 100 foot, cement floor greenhouse, which has a propane grill, an outdoor shower and it is a great spot to sit and relax.
*Winter months*
There is no running water. Bring drinking water and good boots for snowy terrain! We have a heater and tons of extra blankets that keeps the bus very cozy!

The space
The bus has been home bound for three years now, hosting folks from all over. Before it’s current role as tiny home, it traveled across the country, mobile home style, running on waste vegetable oil and lit up by solar power. Our family has grown and put down roots and the bus was our first home on this land as we began our farming adventure. The farm is very much a work in progress. There is currently a small food forest on the land. A hoop house and some field space where we grow all of the tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers and greens our family eats year round as well as many seasonal fruits and veggies. We are working at planting many perennial medicinal herbs including echinacea, marshmallow, lavender, mints, lemon balms, California poppy and lemon balm to name a few. At the same time we are leaving many wild spaces for native plants to flourish and planting more native plants to see if they will take in this ecosystem.

Where you’ll be

Freeport, Maine, United States

We live five minutes from the highway, 8 minutes from downtown Freeport, 15 minutes from Brunswick and twenty five minutes from Portland Maine. We also live near some off the beaten path towns including Lewiston and Lisbon falls, be sure to check them out for fun events (hot air balloon festival, moxie parade etc) and great restaurants. The bus is set back off of a commuter road which is busy at rush hour times, the only traffic is getting off the highway around 5 pm but that is minor. We rent out the bus and a tent platform so the greenhouse can be more of a communal space when we have multiple guests and our family is working on the farm or playing in the field. When we are around we are happy to give tours of our herb gardens and let you know about the best swimming, walking and eating spots around.

I am an artist and organic farmer. I spent many years traveling through the wwoof program within the united states. I loved getting to know hosts and other folks from all over the world who were traveling through the wwoof (world wide organization of organic farmers) For the the first 4 years of my sons life we traveled and farmed. We have been fairly stationary the last few years as we build community and work towards having our own land. I look forward to traveling more internationally as my son gets a little bit older but for now we will host travelers so that we can be in touch with traveling energy and we can share our home and city with new people. I worked at a bed and breakfast for several years in Phippsburg Maine and really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know new people and to provide hospitality for folks who were excited to see new parts of the world or visit family or to just relax on vacation. We live pretty minimally. No tv or cable, though there is high speed internet. We are building a tiny home and working on art and studying permaculture.

During your stay

We are happy to talk and show you around. The bus is very self explanatory and no key is required so we don’t always end up meeting guests. We do provide our phone number and can receive texts and are usually only minutes away if guests need anything.
