This home is in a scenic location.
High Mead is a homely, detached family house located at the western end of Aberdovey. It occupies an elevated, south facing position with extensive views across the Dovey estuary and Cardigan Bay, with easy access to Aberdyfi's beautiful beaches and golf course. High Mead offers ideal accommodation for the holiday maker with children; provision is made to sleep up to eight in three bedrooms. Private parking for up to three cars. Large paved terrace with chairs and table.

The space
Notes on accommodation: Smoking in not permitted within the property. There is electric storage heating in the two main bedrooms, landing, hall and lounge; electric under-floor heating in the kitchen and dining room and heated towel rail in the bathroom. Hot water immersion heater is provided on the landing. Outside: Large paved terrace with chairs and table. Garden shed containing patio chairs and charcoal barbecue. Children's play area with swings. Utility Room: Lobby and separate toilet adjoining kitchen. Cleaning / Bed Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned between lets. Duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels provided. Other: Dining room - Open plan with large table and chairs to seat 8. Views of the estuary. Child's high chair available. Electric under-floor heating. Porch - Tiled floor and boot tray (for those soggy or sandy shoes) Hall - Hall with pay phone

You have access to all parts of the property, apart from two locked cupboards and the garage.

Other things to note
The house is located in an elevated position with a steep road leading to it. Therefore we do not recommend this property for anyone with limited mobility or requiring wheelchair access.
Pets are welcome but we charge £10 per pet per booking.

Neighbourhood highlights

Located on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, this region is known for it's spectacular walks. Aberdovey has numerous watersports activities and is very popular for windsurfers, kite-surfers and dinghy sailors. There is a championship links golf course within 15 minutes walk of the property.

Aberdovey is well known for its miles of clean, fine sand and dunes. The nearest beach is within 10 minutes walk of the property, with other parts of the beach being within a few minutes drive.

A car is advised. Alternatively, the train station is only a 10 minute walk from High Mead. However, due to High Mead's elevated position, there is a steep hill to climb to get to the premises.

Aberdovey village centre is 10-15 minutes walk with a convenience store closer to the property.

Aberdovey is a small peaceful seaside village nestling on the north side of the Dyfi estuary. A popular resort for many years it has a thriving little harbour and sits within Snowdonia National Park, where the river Dyfi meets the blue waters of Cardigan Bay.

Aberdovey is a haven for those wanting to spend an energetic holiday. It has watersports galore, including sailing, sailboarding, fishing, boat trips and the summer regatta. It also has an 18 hole championship golf course.

The area around Aberdovey is littered with attractions. For example, the Talyllyn Railway, which starts in Tywyn, is well worth a visit and there are numerous historical sites within close driving distance in addition to spectacular mountain and valley scenery including the peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges. This is an ideal area for walkers, climbers and wildlife watchers.

Aberdovey's 4 miles of golden sands, sheltered climate, and backdrop of the rolling hills and valleys of Snowdonia National Park, make it an ideal place for a weekend getaway, short break, or family holiday - Aberdovey really does have something for all the family.

Many people return to Aberdovey year after year. It is such an ideal place to relax or use as a base to explore the wild and rugged West side of Wales.
