The space

La Torretta is located in the heart of Casperia, which is a 1000 year old village with charming streets and alleyways made of steps, so the visitor is immediately immersed in the peace and tranquility of an urban space where the local people live, work and shop, without the noise and pollution of traffic.
The House dates back to the 15th century and once belonged to a noble family, during the restoration, which was overseen by the owner and architect Roberto,original frescoes dating back to that period, were discovered and restored. The elegant ambience, features a large stone fireplace, exposed chestnut beams, a mix of antique, classic and modern furniture. An outdoor terrace with stunning views of terra cotto rooftops and the olive clad Sabine hills. The comfortable sitting room space is large enough to meet for critiques, and the large dinning room on the upper floor is open and light with views from every window.There are 7 en suite bedrooms some of which can be twin or triple sleeping 16 comfortably. The open plan kitchen, with Carrara marble surphaces, is a dream for preparing meals for a family reunion or when participating in a cooking holiday.The visitor can enjoy not only the house but the whole village, which offers an ideal scenario for painters or (URL HIDDEN) Torretta, just one hour from Rome but a world away is an ideal venue for painting or photography workshops, cooking holidays, walking and climbing breaks in the Sabine Hills, or a place to spend a relaxing holiday with friends with easy access to historic cities like Rome, Florence, Orvieto.

Guests can hire the whole venue The house is full of books and works of art. there are CDs and TV as well as free wifi.The parking area is below the village but we can arrange for luggage transfers to La Torretta

La Torretta is a family home and we are always present either on the premises or nearby and enjoy meeting our guests and offering them suggestions, restaurant recommendations ,hospitality and help in all fields if needed.

If booked ahead we can organise cooking classes and wine and olive oil tastings, provide a chef, organize excursions, prepare and serve special dinners.

I am a mother of 3 and grandmother of 5. My passion has always been Italy, the art, history food, language and culture. I was born in Wales and this year I am celebrating 50 years in Italy. I am a professional in the travel industry. I have worked as a tour manager, an incentive tour expert, a local tour guide and now since 1998 I have run an upmarket b&b in my own home La Torretta Historical Home. Our guests are welcomed into a real home and can enjoy our hospitality and expertise .We have been members of the slow food movement since it was founded and host tastings, run cooking curses and introduce our guests to local specialties like the Sabina extra virgin olive oil .Our motto is slow food, slow life slow travel, ecosolidarity. My husband Roberto is an architect and his passion is ancient Rome, art and history, quality design, and in fact he has become a modern chair designer.
