Maureen's place in Casperia is an absolute gem. The B&B is located in the heart of a 1,000 year old town, which is absolutely charming. Her place in particular is one of the best locations in that it has a spectacular view of the mountains and valley below. Maureen is a perfect host in that she had the foresight to book us a table at an excellent nearby restaurant since we were arriving on a Friday when tables might be harder to come by. Her.breakfasts are excellent and the location is great if you want to simply explore the nearby countryside or venture into Rome, as it is only just over an hour away by train and short bus ride or auto to the train station.

Casperia is a gem in Italy! It's the perfect stop on your way in and or out of Rome. It's georgeous and very peaceful. Maureen and her daughter, Jennifer were so kind and accommodating. The communication was also great. The B&B is beautiful and clean and has epic views. We loved our stay here!

Maureen was wonderful and made us feel welcome from the moment we entered. The home was historic and charming and had all the amenities one would expect and more. She was thoughtful enough to make reservations for us for dinner in town and we had an amazing time. Would definitely recommend her place if you're looking for something memorable and off the beaten track.

La Touretta exceeded all our expectations! We made a last minute booking the day before and couldn't believe how easy it was to get to Casperia - a lovely scenic train ride from Rome arriving at a magical fifteenth century medieval village. Maureen and Roberto's home is exceptional for it's beauty, elegance and warmth. We really felt welcome and completely relaxed throughout our stay. We spent a week at La Toretta and during that time Maureen and her daughter Jenny went out of their way to suggest local trips and sights including a walk to a hill top convent; a day trip to Orvieto; market day at Poggio Morteto; relaxation with yoga, massage and a lovely local pool. Most evenings were spent relaxing, eating and drinking on the terrazza with the locals including a character called Johnny Madge - an olive oil connoisseur who gave us many tastings. What made this trip stand out was the warmth, care and generosity of Maureen, Roberto and their family. We felt really lucky to have found this little jewel of a place and to have spent time with such special people. We will be back!

I am a mother of 3 and grandmother of 5. My passion has always been Italy, the art, history food, language and culture. I was born in Wales and this year I am celebrating 50 years in Italy. I am a professional in the travel industry. I have worked as a tour manager, an incentive tour expert, a local tour guide and now since 1998 I have run an upmarket b&b in my own home La Torretta Historical Home. Our guests are welcomed into a real home and can enjoy our hospitality and expertise .We have been members of the slow food movement since it was founded and host tastings, run cooking curses and introduce our guests to local specialties like the Sabina extra virgin olive oil .Our motto is slow food, slow life slow travel, ecosolidarity. My husband Roberto is an architect and his passion is ancient Rome, art and history, quality design, and in fact he has become a modern chair designer.
