An overall excellent experience and we would highly recommend this Airbnb gem to others. The listing description was very accurate. Myra and Jerry were extremely accommodating and the view alone was worth the price of the stay. Gorgeous area and great location: in Saugerties but near Woodstock, and about 20-30 mins from Kingston and Rhinebeck etc. Also the apt has everything you need if you want to do your own cooking - and the bedroom is a separate room from the living-room/kitchen area, so you can simply close the door if someone wants to stay up late and watch TV or read in the living-room, etc. Loved it!

Very clean and really nice that all the basic amenities were included (kitchen supplies, some soaps, lots of towels etc.) Weather for the weekend was perfect to make breakfast/dinner and enjoy it on the screened in porch (which was great to keep the bugs out). Pretty well located near the small beach, lots of hiking spots, & kayaking. Myra was very nice & communicative and I'm sure if we had any problems with anything it would be easy to contact her & Jerry and get it cleared up (Luckily we didnt have any)

Myra and Jerry rapidly responded to our request to stay at their Hudson place for 2 nights, and made an exception to their no-dog rule to allow us to bring a house-trained little dog. This was nice and helpful. It was also nice that their apartment was stocked with basic supplies, like towels and shampoo, and they thoughtfully lent us a bottle of bug-spray for our hike. The main living area is a bit nicer than the photos suggest, and the location is conveniently close to town and various trails (though I definitely wouldn't want to stay here without a car). What wasn't entirely clear to us before arriving is that the apartment is right under the main house, and that as such, it's darker than we expected. This isn't a place where you wake up to light streaming in. Also, if you were to sit outside in the screened-in porch area, where there is a table and chairs, you would see the advertised view only through a screen. The beautiful second photo makes it look like there is a big porch outside the apartment that goes right up to those sunny wooden rails, overlooking the forest, but the actual seating area is quite a bit back from those rails. And because it's right under the main house's porch, it's shady, and the shade made it too cold to sit there. ... Given that the prospect of sitting outside in the morning to enjoy the sun and view over breakfast was this apartment's biggest draw for us, we moved a couple of chairs into the sun, and also clambered down to sit on some rocks closer to the photographed rails. If you know what you're in for, you're less likely to find yourself a bit disappointed. A final suggestion to consider amending is the bed. It squeaks when you sit on it, to say nothing of when you turn on it. At this price point, a good queen size bed that doesn't squeak would be worth investing in. We arrived quite late from NYC on Saturday, effectively losing a day, and our hosts kindly extended our check-out time on Monday. (They also felt bad they'd left us the wrong internet password our first night.) We understood that leaving anytime Monday evening would be no problem, as the cleaning lady wasn't due until Tuesday morning, and as we could drop-off the keys where we'd found them. So we got back in just after 8:30pm on Monday, and were gone by 10pm. This was apparently less convenient for Myra than we'd understood, and I wish she'd communicated this to me more calmly, and acknowledged a misunderstanding. Jerry was sympathetic when I returned the keys to him, and wished us a safe drive back to NYC. Overall, it's a good place, and you will likely have a good experience with the hosts. However, at the current price point, and with more time to look, I'd seek a sunnier place with a more comfortable...

Response from Myra:
Jerry and I made many exception for Leile and her friend. They arrived many hours later than they stated. I did make an exception that they could leave by 5:00PM. However on the check out day they did not arrive back to the apartment util 8:30 PM and checked out at 10:00 PM. This caused us great concern as to what happened to them. They did not even call. The weather was unseasonably cold and cloudy. The sun does come in the windows in the morning until it moves to the other side of the house. We are on a cliff so it is not safe to walk to the railing next to the apartment. You need to walk to the other side of the house and sit on the beautiful garden bench we have set out to see the view from all angels. We have a new queen mattress and the bed is on carpeting. I am sorry they were not happy with the accommodations. I feel we extended ourselves and it wasn't appreciated.

Myra and Jerry are wonderful hosts. The apartment was comfortable clean and cozy, just as advertised. We enjoyed our weekend very much, we had just one regret. We should have stayed longer. We look forward to returning.

the apartment is as described (it s the basement of the owner house), but the view from the apartment is obstructed by a very huge owner's deck. So you don't have the same view as the picture. In the meantime, there is a repetitive noise (maybe the heater system?) every hour or so... Myra was very nice and friendly. it's ok for one or 2 nights.

Response from Myra:
The view is not obstructed. We have a screened in porch right in front of the apartment where you have a great view even from the apartment. Read all the other reviews and you will see for yourself. Sorry you did not tell me about the noise. I would have repaired it immediately. It is all repaired.
