Our family enjoyed our stay here very much. The condo/apartment was spacious, very clean, modern, well appointed, stylish, and comfortable. While it was a new and different experience for us to stay in another family's home while they were away, once we arrived we quickly felt at home and at ease. We really appreciated that. The owners' friend who lived nearby and greeted us upon arrival was also a lovely person and very helpful. It was great to have her as a point of contact just in case we had any issues (we had none!) The building itself is top-notch and ideally located. The view is every bit as amazing as advertised and having two balconies to enjoy was a real plus. The neighborhood is also wonderful and incredibly convenient. We walked to the grocery store, bank, and other local shops, and made extensive use of the streetcar system, which stopped less than a block away, to explore the city. We also had secure in-building parking for our minivan, which was great, and we kept it parked most of the time. Toronto is truly a remarkable city, and this apartment is in the heart of a really cool, hip area that is only a 10 or 15 minute streetcar ride from downtown. We purchased unlimited transit "day passes" at the convenience store around the corner, and our two youngest kids (under 12) rode free. A bikeshare station is also located at the base of the building and bikes can be rented as another great option to explore the city. If all of my kids were big enough to ride full sized bikes I'm sure we would have tried them out while there. We quickly discovered that cycling has become very popular in Toronto as a mode of personal transportation, and we saw an almost constant stream of bike commuters going by each day on the side street. The immediate area around the building is very nice, including the wonderful adjacent Stanley Park with its expansive and well maintained green space, ball field, and dog park. The people who live in this building and neighborhood appeared to be predominantly young, professional singles (all who seem to have dogs!), and there was a lot of interesting people and dog watching to see from the balcony. At the same time, we found the area to be extremely quiet and peaceful at night. I highly recommend staying in this great home to anyone (including adventurous families with kids, like us) who would like to try a really fun and interesting alternative to the typical downtown tourist hotel when visiting Toronto. All in all, a very memorable and positive experience.
