My little one bedroom is classic New York. Small and un-renovated but charming, in a great location within easy walking distance to Rockefeller Center, Central Park, MOMA. Right on the NYC marathon route if you are in town for that. Lots of shops and restaurants all around, including on my street. Nothing fancy, but great for single folks or couples looking for a base of operations near the center of it all.

The space

My apartment has got some unique charm, with lots of old New York details. It is on the fourth floor of an old walk-up building, so if you are looking for a doorman, an elevator, or any kind of luxury, look elsewhere. However, if you want a safe, quiet, and very convenient place at a good price, I have it.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the whole apartment.

Interaction with guests

I can provide you lots of advice but I will not be here if you are here. I am not renting a room but my whole apt. I can mail you the keys or leave them at the deli on the corner where I know the guys.

Other things to note

This is not a business for me. Instead, I rent my place out when I go away. So, I will not be in NYC. Sometimes I will be reachable by email, sometimes not.

Sean's apartment is just as described, a creatively and interestingly equipped small, typical Manhattan apartment with a lot of character. The bath tub in the kitchen area is quite funky! Not the easiest of tasks to avoid water from touching the wall but no problem altogether. It was extremely hot and humid during my time in NYC, but the apartment remained quite cool even without AC. Sean was a fantastic host although I didn't meet up with him. He corresponded immediately, and left a very detailed and kind note with hints and instructions. All in all a very pleasant stay!

The apartment wasn't very homely so we didn't feel comfortable spending much time there, but it was good value for money considering the cost of hotels nearby. The location is great as it is a short walk to Central Park and close to a couple of Subway stations.

After days of looking at places in NYC through the app, I finally decided to requests Sean's place as its location is really good... His reply was quick and positive. Communication between us was ok, he even gave us some tips about his place and surroundings. The place is cosy, a typical NYC place, old fashion building but with everything you need. Bed was really comfy. Place was clean. Surrounding area is fantastic so you can find whatever you need within 10min walk. Tube is 10min away which takes you down to Brooklyn. 5th ave within 20 min walk. In conclusion, it is a good place to have your base to visit NYC, it definitely helped us to achieve it really easily! Thanks!

Great location. Close to transport, restaurants and bars. A bit of traffic at rush hour (cars going up the bridge) but it is new York... traffic is part of the charm! Super comfortable bed and away from the noisy street. The flat is nicely decorated and rather charming. Sean was a great host and he kept in touch to make sure we were ok at all times.

Sean's place is a great value for the location. He wasn't able to be there for check-in, but sent very detailed instructions which were easy to follow. The place is in a great location, but don't expect anything fancy. Like some people have mentioned, the shower is a little off-putting since it's basically in the kitchen. But other than that, the living room and bedroom are very comfortable.

Easily accessible and affordable stay in Manhattan. All the basic necessities you need, however make sure you're up to climb 4 flights of stairs. Very good location to walk to Central Park with plenty of good food/drink nearby.

Dive into the real life of New Yorkers ! Sean's place is exactly as described, atypical, vintage and cosy. The bed is super extra comfortable ! The bath tub is indeed located in the kitchen but it has a real charm to it and... who does not like to take a bath every day ? It's quite easy to use it so don't fret. The place was also very warm, which was nice after a long day walking outside under freezing temperature (bless Winter). Sean was very nice to leave us some coffee and all was provided in the apartment. It's a very charming place, and well located just near Central Park, a subway station, the UN, and an amazing little coffee and bagel shop nearby. As a couple, we really enjoyed staying in this unusual place and we really felt we belonged in this amazing city !
