Villa Beranda was our dream home for a week. We enjoyed every single minute of our one week stay. The staff was so caring, accommodative and were always there to assist us with our every need. We would love to recommend this place for those who can appreciate kindness, beauty, creativeness and the true lifestyle of the Balinese people.

villa Beranda is a well managed place with an outstanding cook, friendly gardner and safe driver. The place is clean although it can do with some upkeep...basically good value for money. Wiwin is not just a great cook, she realy takes care of her visitors.

mixed feelings about this villa. The layout of the house is a bit odd, with only 2 bedrooms and a small living area below and a giant top floor. The pool is nice but not big enough for laps. The staff however is wonderful. Ask Wiewin to cook and you'll be more than satisfied. As for the location, there really isn't that much to see. The beach is littered with garbage and grotesque villas of rich Dutch people (hence the name Kampung Belanda). The locals (who often work in the villas as cleaners and gardeners) live in a small kampung behind the villas in simple huts...such a contrast. Venturing inland you will find beautiful rice paddies, but you will be cut short by the heavy traffic on the main road. All in all, nice for a stopover, but not for a long stay.

Response from Jaume:
I think this review is very unfair. The only complain about the villa itself is that the layout is “odd”. As we explain in the description, the villa is designed so the guests can enjoy the balinese atmosphere, that is, the breeze and the smell of the tropical garden and the views over the rice fields and mountains of Lovina. That’s why there is a big open veranda in the first floor, and the living room is also open, connecting to the pool deck, the garden and the gazebo. Also, the layout is perfectly visible in the photos of the advert, so the guest already knew it. Then she talks about other villas, about the nationality of their owners, about the traffic of the main road, and finally almost insults the locals saying they live in “huts” which is simply a lie. All these things are the same all over Bali and Indonesia. There are similar villas everywhere, there are quite a lot of Dutch people because it was the former metropolis, the roads are busy and the locals live in small houses. All rather normal in a developing country. This guest has stayed only 2 nights and advices other guests to make short stays. Well, the truth is that most of our guests stay much longer and they are happy with their holidays, as can be seen from the other reviews (23 ). So maybe the good advice is the opposite: try to stay longer, know the place without prejudice and enjoy the good things it has to offer.

I like a lot travelling to tropical countries and doing outdoor activities in a natural enviroment. That's why I enjoy so much travelling to South East Asia and that's why I bought a property there. I specially enjoy swimming in the sea, doing snokelling or diving, fishing, sailing or simply waking along the beach whatching the sunset...
I strongly recommend to anyone to go there and enjoy as much as I do :-)
