Very comfortable renovated timber mill cottage, 200m from Dwellingup State Forest.
Easy access to bushwalking and cycling trails. Perfect for nature lovers, exercise and 4WD enthusiasts or those just wanting to relax. All the modern conveniences for comfort in both summer and winter with airconditioning & wood fired heater. Northern facing verandah to sit, relax and unwind while enjoying the birds and nature. Fully enclosed yard for children & dogs. Earlier checkin may be available.

The space
The cottage has a lounge room with 3 - 4 seater sofa and 2 single arm chairs. A wood fired heater in the lounge room makes the house cosy in winter and airconditioning is in all areas (except bathroom/toilet area) will keep you cool in summer.

The bathroom/laundry includes a toilet and another separate toilet in located next to the bathroom, making it ideal when a number of people are staying.

The kitchen has been fully renovated and has gas stove top and electric oven and the original wood stove has been preserved. Modern appliances include dishwasher, microwave, coffee pod machine, electric kettle, toaster, full size fridge/ freezer. The dining table is situated in the kitchen area and seats 6 but can be extended if more space is required. High chair available for use. The kitchen is well stocked with essential cooking utensils (and extras) and basic supplies are available in the pantry, including salt, pepper, oil, jam, vegemite, peanut butter, sugar, tea and coffee. Availability may vary depending on use. The Nespresso coffee pod machine will have some pods to get you started, but bring your own favourites (Nespresso compatible) if you wish to have an ongoing supply.

The front verandah faces north, looking across to some remaining jarrah trees and is the perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy the abundant bird life (including blue wrens, robins, "28" parrots, fantails, willywag tails and various honeyeaters to name a few) which come into the garden. They love the birdbath in the front garden and you will see a display in the mornings and afternoons when the birds come to drink and bathe. Its worth keeping it full to enjoy the show.

The cottage is only 200m from the Dwellingup State forest which has many walking and mountain bike trails. It is only 5 mins walk into the main part of town and 10 minutes drive from Lane Poole Reserve and Nanga (popular wedding venue)

The block is fully enclosed and there is a locked wooden shed at the back which can be used to store bikes if desired. The padlock key is on the house keyring with the front door key which you will have access to at checkin.

Easy & free parking is either through the front gate or on the front verge

Where you’ll be

Dwellingup, Western Australia, Australia

Dwellingup is a small thriving timber mill town located about 75 mins south east of Perth. It is a mecca for mountain bikers, hikers and paddlers. The Bibbulmun and Munda Biddi trails run through Dwellingup and Lane Poole and the Murray River are only 8km from town (10 mins drive).
There are a couple of orchards which sell fruit and vegetables to the public.

The cottage is easy walking distance from the main centre of town which has a small IGA supermarket, a pub / hotel which has very good meals, 2 cafes, art and craft shops, silversmith who makes unique silver jewellery, gift shops, and an excellent Tourist Information Centre. Mountain bikes and canoes are available for hire from Dwellingup Adventures in town.
The Hotham Valley Steam Train runs from Dwellingup on weekends.
The Forest Discovery Centre is worth a visit with an educational display and quality art and crafts for sale from Western Australian artisans
"The Cider Tree" produces it's own apple cider, lemonade (seasonal), ginger beer - worth doing a taste test and staying to enjoy the lovely surroundings. Located 1km out of town
