A BIT ABOUT THE AREA
A village and a major port for landing oysters, Newhaven retains much of its distinctive local character. The original harbour ( a lighthouse built in 1969 is a local landmark) is a stone's throw away and the old Fishmarket is now home to the stylish Loch Fyne restaurant, views from which in the evening sunset are truly breathtaking. From the apartment itself you can see the Royal Yacht Britannia which is now permanently moored next to the Conran designed Ocean Terminal shopping centre, which houses not only shops but a multiplex cinema, bars and restaurants. Close by is Leith Docks, the historic port of Edinburgh, and part of the Leith area (location for the movie Sunshine on Leith) which today is a vivacious area, jam packed with top restaurants boasting the best chefs, delicious delis, drinking spots and contemporary galleries.

Other things to note
Check in time is from 2pm and check out is from 11 am. If you arrive earlier than this, the Edinburgh bus station in the centre of town holds luggage for just £10. Please let us know in advance when you will arrive so we can arrange to be there to meet you and show you around our apartment. Thank you
We're generally pretty laid back but we'd really appreciate it if you wouldn't smoke in the flat. It is on the second floor so it is not far to walk down the stairs to have a cigarette outside. Also if you could be respectful to our neighbours and keep the noise level down after 10pm (and not use the washing machine after 8pm) that would be great. We don't allow any parties in this flat. If you could also please take your luggage/suitcases quietly down the flat stairs if leaving early in the morning or late at night so as not to disrupt our neighbours that would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much :)

My name is Zoe and I live with my boyfriend Steven. We welcome you to Edinburgh and hope you enjoy staying in our central Victorian flat. I studied Fashion Design at Edinburgh College of Art and am now a freelance fashion stylist for stills, TV and film. I'm a total foodie so I'm constantly cooking but equally love going out for dinner and testing out new restaurants, cafes and cocktail bars. Steven is a full time musician and plays gigs all around Edinburgh. Steven and I have both lived in Edinburgh all our lives and know it inside-out, so put our knowledge to the test and ask us any questions about your stay; where to eat and drink, tips on Edinburgh's hot spots and the best way to get around this fantastic and beautiful city :)
