The space

This is a sunny, light, high ceilinged flat on the second floor of an Edinburgh Victorian apartment in the Newhaven area of Edinburgh, with views over the Firth of Forth to Fife and The Royal Yacht Britannia. The self catering apartment is fully equipped and has been recently refurbished/decorated and SLEEPS UP TO 4 PEOPLE plus extra room for a baby/toddler (please note we provide a cot so just ask if you need one set up) The flat benefits from a comprehensively equipped kitchen, open plan, off the main sitting room area. There is a traditional bathroom with a large, original Victorian cast iron bath and shower as well as an ensuite shower room off the main bedroom. The main bedroom consists of a comfortable king-size bed, dressing table and cheval mirror. The second spacious bedroom has a comfortable king sized bed with wardrobe. There is also a box room which stores the clothes dryer, iron and ironing board. To the rear of the building, there is a well maintained, shared garden with garden benches and tables which is beautiful in the summer time to sit outside to enjoy a glass of wine and have a BBQ.

With your stay at the flat, you will be welcomed by tea, coffee and milk supplies and fresh bed linen. Towels are also provided and the apartment is spotlessly clean.

The apartment is 2 miles from the city centre and is served by several buses (bus stop straight outside the flat) The 11, 10 , 22 and the 16 all go into town and take 10-15 minutes. There is also on street FREE parking directly outside the apartment for those who arrive by car.

A village and a major port for landing oysters, Newhaven retains much of its distinctive local character. The original harbour ( a lighthouse built in 1969 is a local landmark) is a stone's throw away and the old Fishmarket is now home to the stylish Loch Fyne restaurant, views from which in the evening sunset are truly breathtaking. From the apartment itself you can see the Royal Yacht Britannia which is now permanently moored next to the Conran designed Ocean Terminal shopping centre, which houses not only shops but a multiplex cinema, bars and restaurants. Close by is Leith Docks, the historic port of Edinburgh, and part of the Leith area (location for the movie Sunshine on Leith) which today is a vivacious area, jam packed with top restaurants boasting the best chefs, delicious delis, drinking spots and contemporary galleries.

House Rules
No smoking
No parties or events
Check in is anytime after 2PM

We're generally pretty laid back but we'd really appreciate it if you wouldn't smoke in the flat. It is on the second floor so it is not far to walk down the stairs to have a cigarette outside. Also if you could be respectful to our neighbours and keep the noise level down after 10pm (and not use the washing machine after 8pm) that would be great. We don't allow any parties in this flat. If you could also please take your luggage/suitcases quietly down the flat stairs if leaving early in the morning or late at night so as not to disrupt our neighbours that would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much :)

The flat was perfect for our trip to Edinburgh! The kitchen is well equipped and we made a few dinners as well as breakfast every morning. The bed was super comfortable and cozy and the neighborhood is quiet which meant uninterrupted sleep. Living space was perfect for my husband and I. The personal touches are awesome - milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, cereals, etc. It makes for a stress free stay! Location is about 2 miles from tourist attractions but the bus stop is right outside and you can be in the city center in under 30 minutes. Tons of great restaurants in Leith too and the house manual has numerous recommendations! Definitely recommend staying.

Just brilliant. The place is lovely. Close to shops and pubs. And I love old hardwood floors plus everything you could want. The hosts too are brilliant and gave a very handy and concise run down of the area, things to do etc. Extremely Very Super Highly recommended!

My name is Zoe and I live with my boyfriend Steven. We welcome you to Edinburgh and hope you enjoy staying in our central Victorian flat. I studied Fashion Design at Edinburgh College of Art and am now a freelance fashion stylist for stills, TV and film. I'm a total foodie so I'm constantly cooking but equally love going out for dinner and testing out new restaurants, cafes and cocktail bars. Steven is a full time musician and plays gigs all around Edinburgh. Steven and I have both lived in Edinburgh all our lives and know it inside-out, so put our knowledge to the test and ask us any questions about your stay; where to eat and drink, tips on Edinburgh's hot spots and the best way to get around this fantastic and beautiful city :)
