Peace or Shanti (to which the Verandah belongs) along with the other houses in tree-filled Bose Compound, was built in the 1930s by my great grandfather, Aurobindo Bose, a devotee of Ramana Maharishi.

Bose Compound is a 2min walk away from Ramana Ashram where one can also begin the climb up Arunachala. We're located on the Girivalam road with Nilgiris, small shops & eateries close by.

It's an old place that's very open to nature-- Those looking for a swanky modern set up will be disappointed!

The space
Green, tree filled spaces with many birds and animals. Old houses built to last with thick walls that keep our rooms cool in the summer. Langurs and peacocks passing through the garden in a common sight.

The neighbourhood is very conveniently located since it is right opposite the Ramana ashram and the path up the mountain. It's also close to the post office, Yogi Ramsuratkumar's and Sheshadri ashram. There are a number of supermarkets and bakeries and restaurants very close by.

As a person I'm all about space. And as a host in Tiruvannamalai, space is what we have on the south side of the mountain, that's big and green and full of nature. If you need me for anything I'm always happy to help if I can. If I'm not directly on the property then a WA text or Airbnb message should fix it, so do try and save my number after you make a booking. Calls might not always come through since the cell reception here can be a little temperamental.

As a traveler I'm pretty low key, though by no means shy. I'll ask you for help if I need it and am always happy to chat over a coffee, but it's not a must. I like interacting with people and I like watching people interact. But what I love is quiet and reading and spending time in nature.

When not traveling I'm either with my family in Bangalore or with the hill in Tiruvannamalai.
