Warning! Remote stay, you must read: AWD necessary to book this stay: If you're ok with a rugged Cave with no internet, this place is for you. This is a working farm with animals inside and outside the homestead, like the cuddly cats, Lilly the dog, and six swaggering horses who like to eat carrots. Grant is happy to share information about the lifestyle he has created here and the surrounding hiking area. During your stay, you'll be the only guests enjoying beautiful views from the Cave's roof!

The space
Your private sectioned-off space has two queen beds, two huge bean bags, and a couch. Your area is upstairs from your private bathroom with a deep tub and separate shower, and both areas are closed-off from the rest of the house. More than 4 guests can be accommodated if your group is larger, just inquire for a more detailed conversation. However, there is only one group staying at a time. This is a rugged stay. You must drive through a river to reach the Cave and pass through some private gates--just lift the chain and close the gate behind you--they aren't actually locked. Don't be intimidated about the river crossing, the bottom is Bedrock and solid. This stay is on a working farm and animals live here, like the super cuddly cats who are present inside and outside the home. If you have cat allergies, please bring your medicine. Guests enjoy hiking on top of the Cave to view the surrounding desert, the stars, or the sunrise. You also have a private patio with a BBQ, a microwave, mini fridge and drip coffee-maker. Grant's home is run on hydroelectricity--that’s electricity made from pumping water--so energy is limited. For this reason, hairdryers are not permitted, and internet is limited to what you can pick-up on Verizon in the kitchen. Cell signal drops-out 8 miles from the Cave in the nearest town of Boulder. Plan to "unplug" and take-in the surrounding tranquility. Excited to meet you!

Guest access
The Cave House is Grant's home. Your group will have the sectioned-off west wing of Grant's home to yourselves. The community here loves to play music and we encourage you to play and or listen to music in the jam room anytime! We don't allow drones though, sorry! The restaurants are exceptional in Boulder, 8 miles from the Cave, but make sure to check the hours of the restaurants nearby. They close early and often close without notice. Hell's Backbone requires reservations. All convenience stores are CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. The convenience store carries liquor and beer but they don't carry any produce, and are often out of basic amenities like cream and milk. You will be in a very SMALL TOWN so be prepared with food and drink, or be willing to be flexible to the hours and location of the surrounding restaurants.
