We are always 'on call' - staying next door or providing a neighbor host should any needs arise. We also offer as much friendly interaction as you'd like and can share about our favorite area spots, restaurants, etc. Our property next door is a nature sanctuary, organic farm, small intentional co-housing community, and holistic education/retreat center.

Other things to note

This is a no-shoes home, so bring your cozy slippers if you like something on your feet! We are holistically oriented. Most of our food/beverages are organic, we use natural cleaning products, and we live a healthy lifestyle. Luke has lived in Floyd for over 30 years, so he can advise on how to get the most out of your stay! We often have neighborhood music jams or potlucks, and you might find yourself joining us if you are so inclined -- no pressure!

I could not think of a better place to spend time returning to nature, and a peaceful way of life. We only stayed one night, as we are working our way down the US, but it was wonderful to stay at Ashera and Lukes home. The house is stunning, and set in such peaceful surroundings, and very clean. My 17 year old son and 15 year old daughter spent a whole day without the need for electricity or internet, as we paddled in kayaks, splashed in the river, and spent lots of time throwing ourselves into the river from a rope swing. Asher was a wonderful host who checked in with us, and communicated very well. We would have like to meet Luke and chat with Ashera more, but we had very limited time. I would absolutely recommend Sunflower, and would love to return. You are missing a treat if you do not stay here.

Our stay at Kathryn’s beautiful and unique home could not have been better. It was even nicer than the description, and communications and checkin were smooth and timely. Kathryn is a super host and it shows. The property is very unique, that is part of the allure. It is remote and extremely quiet. If you are looking for a quiet stay this is the place for you. The house is one of a kind, as shown on the web site. A car is necessary as the house is in a rural setting, but the ride to the home is beautiful. We were a few minutes away from Floyd and enjoyed our ride in and out each day. Our 3 day visit flew by. Can’t wait to visit again. We highly recommend Kathryn’s home as a restful and peaceful oasis.

This was an ideal retreat for a long weekend. Everything was as described, and the beauty and serenity of the surrounding was captivating. With the exception of a day trip into Floyd, we spent the entire weekend in the new hot tub or the luxurious robes provided by the host. The town of Floyd was fun to poke around in for a day. We also loved watching the many bird who frequented the feeder, and the deer feeding on a nearby hill. Very relaxing and highly recommended. We hope to return often.

A peaceful place for relaxing and exploring, away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed the beautiful, unique house and the nature surrounding. Morning tea and breakfast on the wrap-around deck was a highlight; the view of the forest and the silence was perfect! It was a perfect anniversary getaway!
