A lovely apartment in a country house with a large, covered terrace and enclosed garden. There are wood floors, large windows overlooking the garden and a wood-burning stove. This is both a peaceful retreat and a great base for exploring Florence.
Sleeps 6 in two bedrooms, one double and one with bunk beds. There is a large living-area with a well-equipped kitchen, a TV/DVD player plus sofa and armchairs, and a dining table to seat 6 with another outside. The bathroom has an over-bath shower, basin, toilet and bidet. There are plenty of books and DVDs in italian and other languages that you're welcome to use. For children there are books, toys and DVDs inside, and a paddling pool and playhouse in the garden. As well as the wood-burning stove inside, there's an outside wood-fired oven. I'm an artist, and my paintings and ceramics decorate much of the house.
Besides the apartment, you have your own 1500 sq m private, enclosed garden - with organic fruit trees that you're welcome to help yourself from. On the terrace is a large table and chairs for leisurely outdoors eating, and two hammocks are slung in the shade of lime trees for afternoon siestas! My family and I occasionally use the lower part of the house, in which case the garden will be shared, but the two apartments and their entrances remain completely separate.
Interaction with guests
We will leave you in peace if you prefer, but if you'd like a spectacular breakfast, lunch or dinner, made with local produce - or even a lesson in Tuscan cooking or Italian conversation - we'll be delighted to provide any of these extra services!
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please keep them off beds and furniture, clean up after them and make sure they don't cause any damage indoors or outside. You're asked not to smoke in the house, but feel free to do so on the terrace (with an ashtray) or in the garden.

I was born in Tuscany, have lived in Paris and now live in Florence. I love the cinema, books, Jewish/Yiddish music, musicals, chocolate, pizza and aubergines 'parmigiana'. My favourite books are 'Job', by J Roth and' La Vie Devant Soi', by R Gary. I love travelling and I've got friends all over the world. I know and love the art, culture and cooking of my region, and I enjoy meeting and hosting people whose language, culture and culinary traditions are different from mine. I'm an artist and if you want to find out more about me and my work you can visit my website.
