We have available a light, spacious, modern barn conversion that can sleep two people in a double bed and one further single bed in the same room. Plus a warm and cosy shepherds hut 100 meters along the garden for two additional guests who share the facilities in the barn. The property is one mile from the charming town of Bruton with all of its many attractions including The Chapel restaurant, the world famous Hauser & Wirth arts centre plus many charming local shops, pubs, country walks etc.

The space
Our light, spacious barn conversion adjoins our traditional farm house built in 1642. The barn has an attractive, open plan feel with glass double sliding doors leading on to a small lawn that is sunny, sheltered and full of bird life.
There are several skylights and recessed windows adding to the light airy feel of this open plan room. The kitchen has a hob, a combination oven and microwave plus a fridge/freezer. We provide tea, coffee and a few other basics upon arrival but further supplies can be easily bought at nearby shops in Bruton. Please note that there is no dishwasher but washing up liquid/brushes/tea towels are provided.
In terms of seating - there are four stools around the kitchen bar plus two comfy reading chairs beside a coffee table. The beds in the room also provide an optional relaxed, sofa-like seating area for when guests might like to kick back and watch TV etc. WiFi is also available.
There is a shower, wash basin and loo (with a lockable door) and we provide soap, towels, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer. Heating is provided by two electric radiators in the room that have a simple thermostat control system. Both the heating and the hot water will be turned on ahead of your arrival, seasonal variation permitting. We provide coat hangers, a small hanging rail and hooks plus there are large drawers under the bed for additional storage. We also provide an iron and small ironing board. We have a standard inventory in place that includes the books and other decorative items that you will find in the barn that are designed to enhance your stay.
The shepherds hut is fully insulated and has electricity and a fridge. there is a canopy outside with seating and a table for taking in the view of Cogleys wood and the garden. Trains rumble by as the railway runs along side the garden about once an hour during the day. but its a curious quiet place for chilling out.
The sofa converts to a double bed with large cushions hanging on the wall out of the way when you need the double bed and side tables with lights for reading makes it a true haven.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to access our garden where the hut is located but need to be aware that it is between a road and a railway line so children must be supervised at all times. We also have a zip-wire and tree house at the end of the garden that are both strictly out of bounds to visitors. Please do not venture around the back of the house or access any of the yards/terraces as these are entirely private.
