The space
This listing is an add-on version of Restful Retreat. We have added a second heated/air-conditioned bedroom with a queen bed to accommodate larger families or groups. Accommodation is completely separate from main house - about 10 metres away - so you will be assured of quietness and privacy. There is an iron and ironing board in the bathroom. Both bedrooms have an electric jug and toaster, with an additional microwave, frig and 39" TV provided in bedroom 1. At 5m x 5 1/2 m, this is much larger than the average bedroom and has an extra couch and table/chairs. We have also supplied some novels and board games for your entertainment.

Guest access
Guests are free to use the safe and fully fenced back yard. They also have access to the gas BBQ with extra side burner, which is situated on the back deck of the main house.

Other things to note
The space is newly developed, so we are still attending to a few details such as exterior painting and laying a path, but we will not work on these while we have guests. Also, the bathroom is fitted with a small pump which makes some noise for approximately 2 seconds when the water is running, but we and our plumber are looking at ways of addressing this. There is a step of approximately 6" up into the shower. We are happy to negotiate check in times dependent upon our other bookings and our personal commitments.

Location

Ararat, Victoria, Australia

Although Ararat is a great launching point to visit the fabulous Grampians and the local wineries, there are also things worth exploring in the town itself. As the only town in Australia which was first settled by the Chinese, Gum San museum, which celebrates this heritage is well worth a visit. With an art gallery, museums, the relaxing Alexandra gardens, historic J Ward and Aradale ghost tours, you can pass time very pleasantly.

I am a singer. song writer, born in Wales, but came to Aus as a child. With my wife, Alli, who is a psychologist/counsellor, I moved from sunny Queensland to rural Victoria 6 years ago to pursue work opportunities. I've published a number of albums and books, teach music, am currently exploring the wonderful world of vlogging and learning about building websites. I love travel (especially to Asia), and good coffee.
