Fantastic modern cottage just feet from the jetty in the harbour area. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining area and sitting room. This lovely cottage has everything you need for a short break or long vacation. Ideal for couples or families. Within walking distance of local seafood restaurants, shops, beaches and local amenities.

You have the entire cottage to yourselves. It is 30 meters from the picturesque jetty and harbour area and 350 meters from the beach.

We have fantastic local seafood restaurants, visit The Company Shed, The Oyster Bar, The Coast Inn and many more, all within walking distance.

Grab a bucket, a net and crab line from the Blackwater Pearl (which also serves a great breakfast) and go crabbing on the jetty.

Take a boat trip with Stacey on the Lady Grace, available most days from the jetty for a small fee.

Walk along the beach or seawall, it's even possible to walk all the way around the island (allow 6 hrs and check the tides).

Cudmore Grove Country Park in East Mersea, is a short 10 min drive from the Cottage. An ideal location for picnics, long walks and it has a great free play area for the little ones. (Please note there is a pay and display car park). There are WW2 pillboxes, wildlife and good views to enjoy.
Whilst you are there keep your eyes open for uniquely decorated rocks as part of the community Mersea Rocks scheme.

Enjoy the Carnival, Mersea Regatta, The Food & Drink Festival, Classic Car shows, Mersea Vineyard, Sailing events and Open Art Studios. We have many talented local artists and photographers.

Collect your take away Fish & Chips from Mersea Island Fish & Chips and enjoy them on the beach or grab a coffee in the Art Cafe.

There is so much to do and see just on the Island but, if you wish to travel a little further you can fill your holiday with so much more.
A trip to the famous Tiptree Jam Factory to see their Museum and try one of their amazing cream teas.
Abberton Reservoir Visitor Centre, Layer Marney Towers, Constable country (Dedham), Gainsborough (Sudbury -25 miles), Antiques and Stately Homes in Long Melford (27 miles), Dry Ski slope and tobogganing at Suffolk Ski Centre (28 miles).

Love the sea and beaches and places to relax after working hard. Can't do without great places to eat and beautiful views.
When we travel we like somewhere quiet that's not too far from the action that's clean with the things you need. We like hosts who can help and answer questions but do not interfere.
