We do not allow smoking or pets. We are animal lovers ourselves but have familial asthma and allergies. In our sons case, particularly to dogs.

We also do not allow burning of candles. They just present too many possibilities for accidents. We ask that outdoor fires be kept to the designated fire pit. In relation to the indoor fireplace, we ask that our visitors always use the fireplace screen provided. It is a Rumford fireplace used for heat and by design has a shallow hearth. The screen is essential for safety.

Anthea and Paul's place was absolutely terrific. For a few nights we had the extended family there and it was just perfect. It's a big beautiful place in a beautiful location - kayaking and hiking right out the door. Great kitchen with everything one would need to cook indoors or out (fabulous fire pit). Anthea answered any and all questions straight away. Can't say enough - we loved it and hope to make it back there.

We loved our time up on Peacham pond~ The location was perfect to relax and get some fresh air. The cabin has a large outdoor space with a fire pit and lots of games available for outdoor and indoor recreation. Lots of hiking trails nearby in the state forest, there is a dock on the property with canoes and paddle boats. The house itself is a large log cabin with lots of space and a well-equipped kitchen. Be sure to read the email from the hosts well, they have very good directions and their suggestions are right on. Can't wait to go back again :).

The cabin was everything described in the listing and more! The location is beautiful. We spent our days swimming and kayaking on the lake and the evenings by the campfire. The house has everything we needed, was clean, and in a great location for exploring the great outdoors. Anthea provided us with excellent instructions and was incredibly responsive to the one small issue we had. We would come back here in a heartbeat.

Our stay at this "cozy cabin" on Peacham Pond was wonderful. The place was spacious and immacualte (and I am picky). There was a welcome bag waiting for us when we arrived with local treats--a nice touch. The house itself is really beautiful inside and out--so much wood and so open! The kitchen has everything needed -- even more pots, pans, and such than I have at home. The place was spacious. The five of us never felt at all crowded. The master shower with dual shower heads was fabulous. There were plenty of fluffly towels and numerous blankets. The washer and dryer are full-size and of the newer sort, which made it easy to do our laundry and pack light. Even better than the log-cabin architecture, spaciousness, cleanliness, and cozy feel of the cabin is the setting. The big porch that looks out through the tress to the pond was a serene place to eat breakfast and read in the morning. For the pond (which is pretty good sized!) there were kayaks, a paddleboard, and a peddle boat. We had great fun paddling and peddling about in the water. And then at night the stars are simply amazing. Even the Milky Way is visible. We spent several evenings lying on the dock and looking up at the stars. One night the water was still enough that the stars were reflected in its surface. We also enjoyed making s'mores over the fire pit. Would we stay again? Absolutely. Positively. Without a doubt.
