A spacious apartment with grand piano and all amenities in the heart of St Petersburg classical music district.
The apartment is available for short term or long term rentals, please see details, or feel free to inquire by email.

The space

The apartment is right on Teatralnaya Ploschad’ (Theater Square), across the street from the world-famous Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater ((URL HIDDEN) and St Petersburg Music Conservatoria. So you can practically greet Tchaikovsky and other famous Russian composers and performance artists from your window ) In winter-time, there is an additional huge multi-colored Christmas tree installed in the square, which makes you feel like being in the Nutcracker dream _live_. In summer, the White Nights Festival will occupy your senses day and day-out. For the performances, simply take the stairs down, cross the street and – voix-la – walk into the theater without leaving your furs in the cloakroom. If you are into Russian religious music, there’s a magnificent St Nicholas Cathedral at the end of Glinka Street; the golden cupolas will shine on you transcendentally every time you meditate in the living room, the master bedroom, or the kitchen. The Choral Synagogue is only two blocks away, as is the recently restored Lutheran cathedral with organ concerts and other recitals. To indulge your materialist side, there are plenty of restaurants to go to within VERY short walking distance. Why not share a bottle of French wine over “Venison medallions wrapped in bacon, served with pan-fried green beans and cowberry sauce” - with Maestro Gergiev, or a round of good Irish ale over soccer with a Russian ballerina?!

The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, specially designed for an expat contemporary composer. The living room features a grand piano, which you are welcome to play should you be in the mood for (even) more music. The two bedrooms have a king-size bed and twins, four people total. There is a sofa in the living room and an inflatable bed for one extra guest.

In the bathroom, you can relax in a jacuzzi, take a shower, or do both.

The kitchen has all the necessary appliances and the utensils, so all you need is that bottle of vodka or French wine... Better yet make it Spanish: the bull-fight reproductions of Goya on the walls do demand that fiesty flavor.

In short, this is the place to stay/live in for a true St Petersburg-as-the-Cultural-Capital-of-Russia experience.

Btw: the non-music attractions are easily accessible by public transport or on foot, including the State Hermitage Museum, Russian Museum, Kunstkamera, St Isaac’s Cathedral, Christ-on-Blood Cathedral, St. Peter and Paul Fortress, and numerous others.

Other things to note

Living room has a grand piano that can be played 24x7. We regularly host performers coming to Mariinsky and other venues around the city.

Very spacious apartment that suits easily a family of four or five. Very sparsely furnished, but sufficient for a holiday apartment. Be aware that there is no TV and related entertainment. However, it's nice to have a piano on hand for those who like to play. As I said, the apartment is on a big street corner and the windows, although modern, don't isolate very well and you always hear street noise. In walking distance you find supermarkets, ATM, restaurants etc. Easy to get around in the city.

a huge apartment near Mariinsky theatre

I loved having a place with a grand piano, great space and lots of light. Hermit is a very responsive and helpful host. I had a small cleanliness issue and he dealt with it immediately. Overall I felt very much at home and I would have stayed longer but it was booked out. I would happily return.

It's a very nice and big appartment, with a beautiful view on the Marinsky Theater. It's also very central and in a very beautiful neighbourhood of Saint-Petersbourg. We really enjoyed it! Thank you to Serguey and Anastasia!

Sergei, our host, was very friendly and communicative, and showed great flexibility when our late arrival turned very late due to flight delays. The apartment is beautiful and spacious, with great light. The amenities are as described. The neighborhood is nice, with stores and restaurants close by. The location is very practical for getting to the historic sites, but it is right on a busy intersection which makes it a little noisy in spite of the double glazed windows.
