Autumn is the loveliest time on Cape Cod. We hope you will come and enjoy it with us. Peaceful and quiet, the traffic is greatly reduced. We can park easily in town and the bridge is easily traveled at this time of year. New restaurants and fine new stores (a new cheese shop and bakery) and the favorite stand-bys are still here. Care for a refreshing walk on the beach?

The space

Here at the Mayflower, we had a very happy summer in 2017, welcoming new friends and returning guests. Now again the gardens are in full bloom, and the koi are enjoying their small garden pond delighting the children who visit and enjoy the fresh Cape air.

Come and enjoy our lovely, private place, with a cozy fireplace and comfortable surroundings. We are just a short walk to great beaches and famous Shining Sea Bike Path, 3 miles to Woods Hole and Martha's Vineyard ferry.

We have two second floor private bedrooms (one with king-size bed, one with 2 twin beds) plus a kitchenette with small refrigerator with freezer, sink, stove top, microwave, toaster oven and Wi-Fi connection. Fresh coffee or tea are available with Keurig machine. There is the possibility of another single bedroom with separate bath if needed.

The first floor living room with two couches, a wood fireplace and TV is available for evening comfort. A three season, glassed-in porch is yours for relaxing 'outdoors' on cool days. In the summer there's a hot tub on the back porch near a gas grill for dining al fresco by arrangement. Every season is lovely in Falmouth!

A small pet may be considered for an extra fee.

This 1900's farm house was completely renovated in 2007 with all modern conveniences. Guests love this friendly neighborhood. This is an active music, theater and graphic arts community. I am a photographer and musician and keep track of local activities and events.

Scientists and students are welcome for close proximity to Woods Hole Oceanographic, the Marine Biological Laboratories and the USGS facilities. Parking is available for two cars and/or bicycles. There is no public transportation on this road, so you will need your own vehicle.

Falmouth is known for its great restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. You will never go hungry in this town!

You will want to have your own car to get around and see the Cape. Of course, there are local taxis for short trips or longer trips to the airport.

Guest access

It's a short walk to our private beach, sometimes rocky, sometimes sandy, depending on what the winter storms may bring. Beach shoes recommended. The water is 'delicious'!

Interaction with guests

We are busy folks but generally available for local information and suggestions for activities. We have magazines and brochures to help you decide on interesting places to go and things to do. We're here, just ask or send text messages. Happy to help!

Other things to note

The Shining Sea Bike Path is nearby and a great bike shop will provide what you need to enjoy it. We are just north of Quissett Harbor and The Knob, a quiet place not really known except by locals. Please respect the beach. It's private - and quiet!

While Falmouth water is considered completely potable, we have added a complete home water filtering system - just to be on the safe side!

We had a great time at The Mayflower.Sherry was very welcoming and even though she couldn't meet us when we arrived due to prior commitments she arranged for someone to show us round. The accommodation was exactly as described and shown. The house is full of character and spacious. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening where we played some of the games Sherry had thoughtfully provided. We also enjoyed being so close to the beach which was only a short walk away, which meant we were able to swim twice a day!

We had a wonderful time at Sherry's place! It is a large apartment, more than enough space for a couple and very comfortable for 4, and in a quiet yet convenient location. The kitchen has a toaster over, coffee machine, hob rings, fridge, sink and microwave etc., perfectly fine for breakfasts and basic meals. We visited in early spring and the apartment was warm and cosy (unfortunately not cold enough for the open fire!) Sherry was very welcoming and we felt right at home. Thank you Sherry for a wonderful stay!

Sherry's house is absolutely beautiful! We had a peaceful 3-day stay there right next to the coastline. It's a 2-minute drive from the wood neck beach, which is this AMAZING peaceful little beach facing the west. We watched the most amazing sunset the first night there. Sherry provided us with a living room and a bathroom downstairs, two rooms and a hangout room upstairs. The rooms have a king bed big enough for three and two twins bed respectively. The hangout room has a fridge, a microwave and a coffee machine that will come in handy. We were provided with more than enough towels and a peaceful environment. Sherry even gave us some fruits and three blueberry muffins. Yum! She has so many different brochures and little tips ready. My parents and I loved the place!

We spent a delightful weekend at Sherry's on Cape Cod. The location was beautiful, perfect for exploring, and experincing the colours of the Fall. Very good for walking, cycling and swimming or for the less energetic driving. In particular the nearby Woods Hole is a charming little village, and on the Sunday night we were there we attended an evening of Italian folk music promoted by the WH Folk Music Society in the local Community Hall, wonderful. Falmouth also is a very nice village. The entire area is very historic. The accomodation was perfect for us, spacious and very comfortable, in particular an extremely comfortable bedroom with huge bed, the breakfast facilities were fine. Sherry was a delightful host welcoming, warm, helpful and very informative about the area. She gave us lots of ideas on what to do, what was on and where to eat. A highly recommended home away from home.

My 2 friends and I stayed at Sherry's for a long weekend in August. The house was perfect for us, in a nice quiet neighborhood but still close to beaches, downtown Falmouth, and woods hole for ferries to Martha's Vineyard. We would definitely stay again! The only minor drawback was that the hot tub was being repaired during our stay but we certainly found many other local activities to fill the time. Sherry was very helpful and gave us great suggestions for places to eat and see while in town. Her property has the most beautiful gardens, it was like staying in a park. The enclosed back porch was a great way enjoy the evenings (mosquito free) and to have morning coffee.
