Autumn is the loveliest time on Cape Cod. We hope you will come and enjoy it with us. Peaceful and quiet, the traffic is greatly reduced. We can park easily in town and the bridge is easily traveled at this time of year. New restaurants and fine new stores (a new cheese shop and bakery) and the favorite stand-bys are still here. Care for a refreshing walk on the beach?
Here at the Mayflower, we had a very happy summer in 2017, welcoming new friends and returning guests. Now again the gardens are in full bloom, and the koi are enjoying their small garden pond delighting the children who visit and enjoy the fresh Cape air.
Come and enjoy our lovely, private place, with a cozy fireplace and comfortable surroundings. We are just a short walk to great beaches and famous Shining Sea Bike Path, 3 miles to Woods Hole and Martha's Vineyard ferry.
We have two second floor private bedrooms (one with king-size bed, one with 2 twin beds) plus a kitchenette with small refrigerator with freezer, sink, stove top, microwave, toaster oven and Wi-Fi connection. Fresh coffee or tea are available with Keurig machine. There is the possibility of another single bedroom with separate bath if needed.
The first floor living room with two couches, a wood fireplace and TV is available for evening comfort. A three season, glassed-in porch is yours for relaxing 'outdoors' on cool days. In the summer there's a hot tub on the back porch near a gas grill for dining al fresco by arrangement. Every season is lovely in Falmouth!
A small pet may be considered for an extra fee.
This 1900's farm house was completely renovated in 2007 with all modern conveniences. Guests love this friendly neighborhood. This is an active music, theater and graphic arts community. I am a photographer and musician and keep track of local activities and events.
Scientists and students are welcome for close proximity to Woods Hole Oceanographic, the Marine Biological Laboratories and the USGS facilities. Parking is available for two cars and/or bicycles. There is no public transportation on this road, so you will need your own vehicle.
Falmouth is known for its great restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. You will never go hungry in this town!
You will want to have your own car to get around and see the Cape. Of course, there are local taxis for short trips or longer trips to the airport.
It's a short walk to our private beach, sometimes rocky, sometimes sandy, depending on what the winter storms may bring. Beach shoes recommended. The water is 'delicious'!
Interaction with guests
We are busy folks but generally available for local information and suggestions for activities. We have magazines and brochures to help you decide on interesting places to go and things to do. We're here, just ask or send text messages. Happy to help!
Other things to note
The Shining Sea Bike Path is nearby and a great bike shop will provide what you need to enjoy it. We are just north of Quissett Harbor and The Knob, a quiet place not really known except by locals. Please respect the beach. It's private - and quiet!
While Falmouth water is considered completely potable, we have added a complete home water filtering system - just to be on the safe side!
A second person in the reservation is an additional $25.00 per night. Special arrangements can be made by request.
No smoking. Parking for two cars only. Please park in front of the round thermometer on the tree in the driveway.
