I was a bit disappointed staying here at first, as it had a rooming house feel to it. My room had a big and comfy bed, but there was little space to store my bag and no place to hang things. It didn't really match my other experiences with Airbnb stays. However, the residents were all very friendly and trustworthy about everyone's food in the common fridge. The neighbourhood and location are great, with good eateries like French Meadows Cafe and easy access to downtown, other restaurants and walking/biking trails around the lakes. Uptown Minneapolis is a lovely area of older residences. It also has good access to the freeway system if you need to travel around extensively.

I hate to write negative review but this was a pretty negative Airbnb experience. The location is excellent, close to Lyndale Ave. restaurants and coffee shops. The owners seemed nice but completely preoccupied with their family and program responsibilities. The room was cramped and the common spaces were disorganized and messy. The kitchen often had dirty dishes. On the second day we were there, the shower curtain disappeared and we were not able to take a shower. The owners never responded to our text but the shower curtain showed up that evening. We saw a post it note on the kitchen door saying they were “going north” and the cell phone reception would be poor. We came home that evening to find the door unlocked and wide open. The pictures and description for the location were misleading. The mattress was stained and sheets had some small holes in them. Overall it felt more like a crash pad than an Airbnb. We paid $80 a night and did not feel this was appropriate. We have been active Airbnb users for five years and this was much different from the many other places we have stayed.

We had the chance to meet Christine and her family during our stay, they are a nice family. We were able to drop off our backpacks in the morning and did not have to wait until check-in. The room where we stayed was pretty small, 80% was occupied by the bed. The bed was comfortable. The room smelt damp and was not very clean, when we swept the floor at check out, there was quite a bit of dirt that we did not produce since we only spent 5-6 hour max per night, clearly was not cleaned before arrival. The shared bathroom was not very clean either, we found the toilet un-flushed twice. On the upside, the location is good, right on a main street in Uptown, close to coffe shops, restaurants and easy access to public transportation. This is a perfect spot for young people on a budget, who only need a room to sleep in.

First and foremost, the location could not be better; I was in town for the Uptown Art Fair and Christine's place is about a mile and a half away from the fair and less than a block from mass transit and restaurants and bars and the neighborhood has a great vibe an plenty of street parking. It's a charming place, it feels alive. Since it's a teaching space there are lots of little drawings and inspirations tacked up here and there. The building is old and has character, in a good way, like vintage bathroom with plenty of hot water. The upstairs common area has really great cross breeze with the windows open and while I didn't need it, there is a window unit in the bedroom. The hardwood floors are pretty and the kitchen has a cool old stove. They are committed to the environment which makes a person feelgood about staying. The yard looks healthy and lush. I didn't spend much time at the place because I had to be at the show early and stay late so it was super convenient that I could let myself in and out with the electronic door locks. I only saw one other person while I was there, really, I was just there to sleep and the bed is comfortable and the place is quiet so that is exactly what I needed. Generally I am a person of few words and I need to come up with 250 more and don't much know what else to say. I would happily stay at Christine's again. It is a very nice traveler's rest. I had everything I needed and it was easy to book and easy to be a guest and it felt welcoming and good and it's a great great value to be so close to so much for so little money and it is nice to be where you know your host is trying to be a force for good in the world and is working to educate people to better the planet and humanity and it feels like a safe space. So staying at Christine's is a good choice. 141 words left. Minneapolis is a cool city with good food and art and friendly people and I had easy access to all of it and since I stayed at a place that cost less than half of what a hotel in the area would cost I was able to enjoy meals out in the area even though I had access to a well equipped kitchen that smelled like garlic which is a smell I love. I like that Christine does the instant booking thing because that seems to be a fair minded way to do business and it is clear that the space is all about being a net positive. Who could ask for more? Not me. My stay was a positive experience and I am certain that any and all guest who stay will feel the same way. word

We're fun! We're crazy! We're creative and people like us. Come stay at our house! We like to dream! We like to build a new world based on love and art and composting! We want a forest for a garden! We like exclamation points!! Sam likes cheesecake! We like you, maybe!?! - Michael & Christine + Sam(uel) and Violet!

We're moving forward on a rainwater catchment/filtration system. We have about 3.2 zillion (est.) edible wildthings growing in our yardforestgarden. I (whoever *that* is) personally cannot wait for the Lambsquarters seeds in autumn!
