As a business, we remit provincial and federal sales taxes as well as pay the local lodging tax and of course the fee AirBnB charges. When all is said and done we receive far less than the price you paid.
When considering the nightly price one has to consider if they prefer supporting a legitimate local business that abides by inspections, classifications, commercial insurance requirements and taxation or another host who does not. Airbnb does not discriminate on this point and leaves it to the traveller to decide.
We put a lot of effort into what we do and would ask guests to consider things like the above when making their accommodation decisions. In truth, I thought your stay went very well and am surprised to see a three star review rating on your part.
For the record, we use only high quality linens and bedding and your sheets were in fact brand new.
