It's like a small village in the centre of London. Bloomsbury...home of Virginia Woolf, Charles Dickens and WIlliam Morris. Cosy cafes and restaurants. A clean, safe, tidy neighbourhood with easy access to most of London's central museums and fun places.

I encourage people to walk or use the buses as you can then get an idea of the layout of Central London. It only takes twenty minutes to walk to Leicester square from here. Get a free central London bus map from any tube station. It will explain the routes and is easy to follow.

  • Joanne is a lovely hostess. She greeted us with tea, home made soup, cheese and biscuits. She made me fresh fruit salad every morning for breakfast, and was generally friendly , chatty and helpful.
However, be aware that this is a very friendly version of the traditional bed and breakfast, with a double bedroom and use of the kitchen, but no extra living space. It would probably suit visitors who are coming to see London, and would be out a lot of the time, or those coming to visit family who are just looking for a comfortable, friendly place to sleep. The shower in the morning has very little power, but is ok later in the day.

  • I spent a lovely time with my friends in Joanne's accomodation.
Not only before we came to stay but also when we arrived at her home, Joanne gave us a lot of helpul advices (buses, tubes, places to visit,...)
Joanne is always friendly and openminded. She prepared delicious breakfast, the room was clean and tidy.
The flat is located in the centre of London, a 5 Minute walk to the next Tube station.
    I can recommend a stay at Joanne's.
    Thank you again, Joanne!

  • Joanne is a very helpful host! She had a lot of the latest information on what is going on in London as well as general tips on where to go. Her place is cosy and the location is very central and perfect for trips in any direction. We felt safe there and the exchange of keys worked like a charm especially as we ourselves had to inadvertently change schedules on the day of our arrival due to the storm and rain. Her son introduced us to his new Lego and Doctor Who and the rabbit in the kitchen was an unexpected specialty.

  • Joanne and Ben are great! Joanne is a highly talented artist, and we had great fun discussing different topics, especially electronic check-outs ;-). Ben is a handsome young man, very sharp and intelligent, and I really enjoyed his company. Joanne was kind enough to share their dinner with me, and must say, it was healthy and tasty. Location and room - excellent. All I can say is a, 'BIG thank you' to such a warm and loving family. Regards, Nash

  • Joanne is an excellent hostess. Really nice and helpful. Bed very comfortable. Flat in perfect locations the only problem with the flat is the shower. Not enough water pressure.

  • Joanne is simultaneously a a knowledgable guide and pleasant partner to chat with. Not to mention, she makes a delicious, complete breakfast. I would recommend staying with her for a stay in London.

  • I stayed at Joannes place for a short London trip and enjoyed the time very much. Joanne gave me many usefull tips what to do. She is an absolutely trustworthy and lovely person! She was anytime Communication before and while my stay was perfect - mail replies took only a few minutes. The room is very central located but it's also very quit because of the 6th floor. Sleeping with an open window and fresh air was no problem. So I was four days AT HOME in beautiful London... Thank you very much, Joanne!

I'm an artist working in hand-painted chinaware, collage and watercolours. Former university lecturer in English and Art, I have lived in Chicago, Naples, and Seoul. My son who is nine and I enjoy travelling, bike riding, Lego-building, and swimming.... and attending to our pet bunny called Snuffles the Butler. We love to travel. Our favourite spots are The Sahara Desert in Morocco and a picturesque horse farm in Tuscany. I am very interested in geography and other cultures. I am also a member of The Royal Geographical Society and might be able to invite you along to an explorer's lecture. We enjoy meeting people from around the world. We like to help them get the best from their time in London by pointing out good restaurants, cafes, markets, theatre tickets, and other cultural events. We also help you with the logistics of getting from A to B by bus, tube or foot.
