The Space

Enjoy our cosy room in an artistic family flat- surprisingly quiet at night. Lovely breakfasts served on hand-painted china -espresso or tea to wake up to.

A very central location served by Holborn and Russell Square tube--Piccadilly and Central line.

Be down in Soho or Covent Garden in 15 minutes by walking...or 38 and 19 bus.Carry on to Green Park and walk through the park to visit Buckingham Palace...half hour journey. Happy to help with directions and itineraries...getting around.

We have a very mellow rabbit in the kitchen who is happy to be stroked. My son, Ben is nine years old and a Cub Scout who might show you his latest Lego creation.

The bed is a fabulously comfortable top quality American Queen sized bed. You will get a good night's sleep here.

Guests have access to the bathroom with its London tube map shower curtain. Towels and linens are provided. Toiletries are provided if needed.

Access to kitchen. Feel free to cook your own meals if you wish. Or sit back and let me make you breakfast which can be pancakes with lemon and sugar, or mixed fresh fruit with honeyed yogurt and muesli, or sausages with tomato and beans, cereal, oatmeal... Etc.

Drawer and hanging space in bedroom.
Your own key to come and go as you please.

A nuffield health gym pass if you wish to go for a steam, sauna, workout or swim.

It's like a small village in the centre of London. Bloomsbury...home of Virginia Woolf, Charles Dickens and WIlliam Morris. Cosy cafes and restaurants. A clean, safe, tidy neighbourhood with easy access to most of London's central museums and fun places.

I encourage people to walk or use the buses as you can then get an idea of the layout of Central London. It only takes twenty minutes to walk to Leicester square from here. Get a free central London bus map from any tube station. It will explain the routes and is easy to follow.

House Rules
Not suitable for pets

Airbnb is a more personal experience than staying in a hotel. I'm not one to check your passport to verify your identity, but I do prefer if you are staying with me in my home that you make time for a cup of tea and a chat. I find it rather cold if people just want the key and the wifi password. That's not what it's about for me.

Check out is flexible, however, if I have another guest coming the day that you are checking out, please check out by noon. It is most likely possible to still hold your luggage for the remainder of your stay until you need to take your plane.

Laundry is available. I will do it in my machine here, but I will operate the machine. I have had someone break the machine in the past. That is why this rule is here now.
Smoking is allowed outside on the balcony...not in the house.

We offer a room with breakfast included. We enjoy meeting people from around the world and helping them get the best out of their time in London by pointing out good restaurants, cultural events, and helping with logistics and itineraries if needed.

I'm an artist working in hand-painted chinaware, water colour, and silkscreen. Former university lecturer in English and Art, I have lived in Chicago, Napoli, and Seoul. My son who is eleven is into Lego spaceships, mine craft, and Dr. Who.

Favourite parts of London which I recommend: Walking along the Southbank, the boating lake and gardens of Regents Park, fine food at Borough Market, the teas, jams, and biscuits at Fortnum and Mason, the long boats on Regents Canal, Covent Garden's unique boutiques, bric a brac and international cuisine at Brick Lane Market on Sundays, Kingsland Road for trendy bars, cafes, and Vietnamese noodles, Victoria and Albert museum, South Kensington, Hampstead Heath --Kenwood House for scones and tea, the river walk at Richmond, Hampton Court Palace.
