Let me start by saying the interior of the apartment is immaculate and obviously newly renovated. The pictures posted in the listing at the time of our booking are very much on point/credible and seen on accessing. It would cause one to think either modern, new building or at lea…

Response from Home In Budapest:
We have been in the short term rental apartment business for 8 years, and received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback on Airbnb, (Website hidden by Airbnb) and other platforms. We have a lot of returning guests. Our first priority is always the comfort, and satisfaction of our guests. Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in the world (Website hidden by Airbnb) ), and one of the safest (Website hidden by Airbnb) . Every one of our apartments is in the city center, most of them are located in the 5th district, but during the last few years the 7th district became very popular amongst tourist. It houses most of the pubs, bars, cafés, restaurants, it has become what the Marais district is for Paris. A few of the places that are located here: Szimpla kert ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) Gozsdu udvar (Website hidden by Airbnb) Feszek, a place which was very famous during the 20th century amongst the artistic crowd of the city ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) ) The district is under a collaborative renovation program, where the government with the district is working on renovating the area back to reflect its true heritage. A lot of tourists choose the stay here, when they are visiting Budapest. It is safe, inexpensive, very good location, with a lot of places to go, and to eat, and still in the city center, so we expanded our portfolio with 7th district apartments. Julia is our newest apartment in the 7th district. From 5 minutes of the apartment is located the second biggest Synagogue, which is not only a religious center but serves as a cultural center in Budapest, Hungary and Europe. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Elmer and his family booked the apartment one week prior to their arrival. They have arrived on the 31st of December at 21PM. They were a bit strange. They liked the apartment and had no complaints regarding the apartment. However they had complaints about factors we had no control over: 1.There are many homeless people on the streets. Yes, as in any large city, there are some unfortunate people in Budapest that are living on the streets. It is a very sad thing indeed, and it affects most of the world’s big cities 2.The entrance of the building was dirty. It might have been, they have arrived on the 31st of December and the Holidays are widely celebrated in Hungary, there are a lot of people going around, having fun and such. However, this means a decline in the effectiveness of the public services, such as cleaning. The cleaners arrived on the 2nd of January and cleaned the whole building. The apartment is housed in a flat that is mostly used for living, and unfortunately it is not located in a hotel, it is not our responsibility to clean it, and usually it is cleaned. 3.There are a lot of people on the streets. Yes, there are a lot of people on the streets on New Year Eve, and celebrating. 4.The elevator broke down at 22 pm in the building, it was repaired on the next day and was in working condition at 13 pm. 5.They have read is somewhere that the 8th district is unsafe, and insisted that the 7th is unsafe too. The districts in Budapest are numbered according to history. The first district houses the Castle, and the old town, the 2nd district is an extension of that. The 3rd district houses Old Buda and very well-preserved ruins of the Ancient Roman city of Aquincum, with a bath house, military town, and two arenas and so on. They also told me that there are strange people on the streets, I honestly don’t know what they meant, yes there are a lot of tourists during the holiday season. During the booking process I have given the exact and right address, they were not bothered by the 7th district then. I think they liked the price because during New Years Eve hotels charge 3 times as much. One can find a better price regarding housing on the next day, January the 1st, New Years Eve is always the most expensive night. They have found something else and left. I have sent them several e-mails detailing that this is only a celebration of a worldwide holiday, they have to wait only one day, and everything will change, the “strange” people will disappear, and the building will be cleaned. They were absolutely incorrect and unreasonable people. Last thing - the host was not late. It is not true. We are attesting to our 760 !!! positive reviews from our guests. Unfortunately, we sometimes meet with guests like Elmer.
