Where you’ll be

Kent, England, United Kingdom

The cottage is 2 miles away from Appledore, a beautiful quaint village with a post office, antiques shop, pub, Miss Molletts tea room and 13th-century church on the edge of the Royal Military Canal.
Five miles away is beautiful Tenterden a historic market town with many independent shops, a brewery and a heritage railway. You must visit Rye and it’s cobbled streets and medieval buildings of the ancient port town which is just seven miles away where you’ll also plenty of restaurants and pubs and harbour. Ashford is a short drive away and offers great shopping at its designer outlet centre, a leisure centre and high speed connections to London taking just 36 minutes to kings cross and the continent from Ashford international railway station. There are also many villages to explore across Romney Marsh.

The coast line.

The closest beach is Camber Sands, 10 miles away, where there is Miles of sandy beaches There’s also a sandy beach and seaside fun in Dymchurch (12miles away) Beaches again in winchelsea, greatstone, Littlestone and New Romney all beaches are about a 20 -25 min drive from the cottage

Kids and animal lovers will love the Rare Breeds Centre in Woodchurch, just a ten-minute drive away with rare breeds of British farm animals, the chance to meet the animals see falconry displays and tractor rides More exotic animals including lions, tigers, rhinos and gorillas are at Port Lympne Reserve, just 10 miles from Brittons hill And there’s great fun on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway which operates one-third sized steam and diesel trains across the Romney Marsh. Hop on at New Romney where there’s also a museum and model railway. For a full-size steam railway, visit Tenterden and ride the Kent and East Sussex Railway it’s a great fun day.

Vineyards

Kent and Sussex have some of the best English wines as our chalk soils are very similar to the Champagne region of France, Gusbourne winery and tasting room is less than a 10 minute walk from the cottage.
Chapel Down in Tenterden and Biddenden vineyards are also just a short drive away where you can taste and purchase the wine.
