There are no amenities in Funningur. You will be coming there for solitude. It is a 1 hour drive from the airport. Pick up food along the way at the grocery store in Midvagur. If you drive at night make sure you are using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps. Be sure to visit the town that's name translates to "gorge". Stunning.

The house is really nice indeed, the view from the Windows is breathtaking! staying there for a few days was a real Farøese experience. One reminder for the future guests: i definetely recommend this Place if You have no problem with steep stairs. Duncan was very communicative and we had a really Great time here!

A marvelous, remote, quiet location in a beautiful setting. As two adults and two young adults (eighteen year olds), the house worked well for the four of us. Very easy to check out other sights in the area. It was helpful to have the usual amenities of wi-fi, full kitchen (stove, however no microwave), and separate bedrooms for the young adults. If you're up north in the Faroe, this is a recommended place.

When you arrive to the house driving from the scenic route, the view of the village it's absolutely fantastic. The house is located in an amazing setting, it's very close to the front so you have a good view of the bay and the old church (which is literally next door) from the living room and one of the bedrooms. It's peaceful and very quiet. The hse is well equipped, there were some minor issues with lights not working but as it was June and it hardly gets dark, it was not a problem. Duncan was very quick to respond and communication was good during the booking and the stay. He also has a good collection of books about the history and restaurants of the country which we enjoyed reading. The trip to the shower in the basement will not be everyone's cup of tea and although I agree with Duncan that you wouldn't come here expecting the Ritz, I do think a picture or two of this should be shown in the description of the house as the steps might be quite awkward for some people and once you are down, it's essentially a dark storage garage. Saying that, the shower was good and powerful. We went for walks at night, close to midnight and it was absolutely delightful. Thank you for a very relaxing stay Duncan! Maria&Simon

Excellent base to explore surrounding countryside. Lots of space if you are not afraid of stairs. Secluded and peaceful. Self-contained but not near shops
