We stayed at Natasha's basement apartment for 4 days and found it to be clean, tidy and well equipped for our stay. The apartment has a cooker, fridge freezer, tv, private bathroom and is a good size for a short stay. Next to the private apartment is a lounge area with a pool table and a big screen tv along with the laundry facilities which came in very handy for our stay. There's also 2 car parking spots which is handy Natasha was very friendly and welcoming and offered some tips on visiting the city. There's a big city map in the bedroom - which reminds me, the bed is very comfortable. Natasha was also very kind enough to invite us to a party she was holding above us, however as we were tired from the day's sightseeing we decided to give it a miss. The neighbourhood is very nice and clean and is a short walk away from 16th street where the S2/S4 bus stops - catch one of these buses to get to the main area of Washington DC - The Federal Triangle. Here you'll be able to walk and see the White House, Vietnam war memorial/reflecting pool and all the other main sights of the city. Overall, we'd recommend this accommodation and would gladly stay again if we ever return to Washington DC.

We spent one night at Natasha's home over a weekend and she was a great host. She took the time to show us around the apartment and to give s information for the surrounding areas. She was a great host.

Natasha's place is located in a beautiful, scenic neighborhood in DC. We enjoyed our stay and would return in the future. The host was available to assist us, had excellent communication and is very kind. We were able to book at the last minute--with kitties in tow--and she was very welcoming.

I stayed at Natasha's last minute for a few days on the leg of a road trip. Natasha is definitely hospitable, friendly and an excellent communicator but I did have a few issues. My boyfriend and I did not have a lot of privacy. Natasha would come downstairs quite often and even brought someone down without giving us a heads up to meet our dogs. What really infuriated me was that after knocking and not receiving a response, she opened the door and let our dogs out into her home when we were not there and fed them treats without knowing their dietary restrictions, rules or anything. This intrusion definitely felt like a violation. You will hear a lot of noise from upstairs throughout the day but if you are only there to rest at night, it is not too bad. The entertainment room is not for private use. It is shared with a lot of traffic from Natasha's family. I found that the television in the living room was way too complicated to use with multiple controllers and devices. The path leading to the apartment definitely needs landscaping as I continuously walked into spiderwebs and got hit in the face with branches. It is also uphill so if you have physical mobility issues, maybe this is not for you. The location is ideal for those who want somewhere to escape to after a day of tours, exploring or a night out. Again, Natasha is really kind and well meaning but this location wasn't ideal for my preferences and needs.

Response from Natasha:
Just a little clarification. There is no special privacy to be expected in the Game Room as it is a shared room with a door to the garage. Also, the House Rules state that the Game Room is off the limits for the pets and the activities in the Game Room stop at 11 PM. This rule had been ignored throughout the stay. Another clarification is that unexpected to me the dogs had been left alone in the apartment after a move-out time of 11 am. It was a surprise, when they jumped out of supposedly vacant apartment and ran around the rest of the house. Some treats helped to bring them back. Sorry if it disturbed their diet. It wouldn't have happened if not for your unexpectedly late departure.
