About this listing

Become an island local, staying on the top floor of a Coronado AIA-awarded home. Open and bright layout, design and appointments. Overlooking the SD skyline and summer fireworks, a block to the bay, groceries, dining and your 15-minute water-taxi to the big city across the bay. (Small-town Coronado + big-city San Diego... the best of both worlds).

Description

The space

A blend of the Coronado cottage feel of yesterday with the openness and roominess of today. There are views from every room, light and sunshine to brighten the spirit. Clean and uncluttered, it feels your living in a boutique, well-appointed hotel on an through-back island.

Guest access

Enjoy the relaxed world that is Coronado Island, in your very private second floor house. The ferry landing a block away. Downtown San Diego is a 10 minute ferry ride to Broadway pier. All the urban access with the mellowness of Mayberry RFD.

Interaction with guests

I will be present to orient and explain the property and the neighborhood. My neighbors will be available to assist you as needed. (Our laid-back mayor lives next door.)

The neighbourhood

The home is on the bay side of Coronado, with sweeping views of San Diego city across the bay. There are two grocery stores, all services, restaurants and coffee shops all within a few blocks. The biking/walking pathway around the island starts in front of your door. The bay waters are a block away. The Coronado beach on the Pacific is a 10 minute bike ride. You're on the quite side of the island, near everything, but away from the tourism.

Getting around

Coronado is great on a bicycle or by foot. There is a free bus stop a block away to take you across the island. The Coronado ferry or water taxi leaves hourly from the pier a block away, should you want to go to downtown San Diego or Little Italy for dining, events or shopping. Or just stay home and BBQ on the second story patio.

Other things to note

I'm often here to help and look forward to making this be a great memory for all of us. And I'm told the quality California King size bed is a plus too.
