Come experience a life close to nature, enjoy a wonderful view and great food, all at a mountain village. We welcome people who are interested in seeing and experiencing a different lifestyle, with more nature, more healthy food, less stress and more simplicity. Travelers who would like to see how we grow our food, how we use the herbs in the surroundings, and how we try to integrate sustainability in both our renovation methods as well as our community.

The space

At our place you can enjoy nature and be close to the Apuseni Natural Park. There are caves, forests, a lake and a waterfall close by. We offer a rustic experience with a beautiful view. Our place is unique because it offers a glimpse into a more simple, slow, natural lifestyle with beautiful sunrises and quiet evenings. It is ideal if you want to get away from the rush of city life.
The rustic and traditional houses are equipped with the following amenities: an outdoor hot water shower and an outdoor ecological compost toilet.

We offer you an experience to stay in a room renovated using natural materials, with wood, clay and a cozy atmosphere. The garden room, which you can enjoy during your stay, is right next to the garden. You can relax and learn about what we grow here if you are interested in plants and growing your own food.

Guest access

You will have access to the common living areas such as the main cabin, also available are our collection of books to sink into about nature, natural living, ecology and sustainability. Available to inspiring all musicians we have a small collection of instruments. Quite stargazing campfires can be arranged as well as a hammock among cherry blossoms.
We have an outdoor shower surrounded by lilacs and an outdoor compost toilet. Guests have no access to the kitchen.

Interaction with guests

We are always present on the property, and are happy to meet people and share some stories as well as respect the sanctuary of our guest's privacy.

Since we have both lived and still enjoy life in the city as well, we can tell you the benefits and the difficulties of striving towards a life where nature and ecology are a priority. You’re welcome to enjoy our home cooked organic meals, and even learn how to prepare them.

Other things to note

We can offer three home cooked organic meals. Since we only have a small kitchen, there is no cooking opportunity. We also find it very important to support the local rural community and consume organic food and no processed foods at the farm. Since we live in a communal way, you are welcome to try our homecooked meals and slow food.

Our place is designed for tranquility, so you may get away from the city life and enjoy nature. We can offer you an experience that will be unique, a chance to see how a traditional mountain village is today in Transylvania, and how we live our daily lives in a secluded village at the border of the National Park. We are not interested in tourism, instead we would like to offer an experience that you cannot find elsewhere.

It is the special place in Romania not only for staying but more like have a experience of the great life with nature. You can enjoy the amazingly lovely cottage ,garden and the view through the windows. Also healthy meals which we can't have in the city. Roger and Zsuzsi are great hosts always being so nice and kind:) It doesn't matter if you can't speak English or Romanian as they won't mind and even they will help your traveling !

This is a real homesteading experience. Overlooking the beautiful rolling hills of Transylvania, Roger and Zsuzsi have built a cozy, rustic life for themselves. While there, we went on an adventurous hike that included the Bride's Veil waterfall, spectacular vistas, and a fascinating look at lifestyles in the village. We ate delicious home cooked meals made with ingredients mostly from their organic gardens. We shared those meals with our hosts, other airbnb guests, and volunteers, which made the home feel like a worldly community. Roger and Zsuzsi live a simple but enriched life and we learned a lot from them even with our short stay. We recommend a longer stay, since our only regret was visiting for just 2 nights! This was a wonderful and memorable part of our Europe trip and we look forward to coming back!

We had the best days during our whole trip through Romania i this place which is very unique. Both Hosts were absolutley friendly, open minded and inspiring. Their way of living is interesting, which leads to a lot of good conversations. On top of the nice place, the food was healthy, seassonal or in just one word - awesome! Thanks for the nice ending of our trip and the nice time - we will see us again.

Stayed for 3 nights during a longer trip - easy train connections for a much-needed break from city-hopping. Great spot to relax and recharge. Attentive yet relaxed hosts living a life that I was happy to support. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Roger and Zsuzsi are very kind and caring people, and the Organic Art Ranch reflects that. It's a beautiful place to stay, with great views of the surrounding mountains and the moonrise and stars at night. The place is clean and homey, and the bed is super comfortable. There is a garden with a bunch of herbs growing outside the room, so it always smells amazing. Zsuzsi's cooking is also great; she uses things from the garden as well as organic produce from the local market to create delicious meals that you might not usually get to eat in the city. You also have a chance to meet some really cool people who participate in volunteer work at the ranch. Overall, staying at the ranch was a great experience for me. I got to try to milk a cow and chop some firewood, which are not things that I'd typically get to do. I will say that if you want to visit the caves and other tourist attractions in the Apuseni park, this is probably not the best place to stay for that because access is difficult, but it is easy to get to the park from the ranch just to go on a simple hike.

Mountain Village User ProfileMountain Village is a superhost.

We are Zsuzsi and Roger, living in the mountains of Transylvania, running and organic farm. We love good and healthy food, the peaceful nature around us, and the pristine beauty of the mountains.
