Cabin 7 - Hemlock Hideaway is the ideal spot for a private getaway!

Open year round, Robert Frost Mountain Cabins offers 7 fully furnished, artisan-crafted cabins at a picturesque & secluded setting in the Green Mtn National Forest. A true getaway of rustic charm and contemporary comforts!

This award-winning, licensed, regulated & Health Dept inspected lodging establishment consistently receives a Sparkling Clean rating on AirBnB and 5 stars for cleanliness on TripAdvisor.

The space
Cabin 7 - Hemlock Hideaway is a cheerfully decorated two bedroom cabin with beds so comfortable we're often asked where we buy them. One bedroom has a queen sized bed and the other has two twins that we can convert into a king upon request.

The main room includes a cozy living room with propane fireplace, Swedish reading nook, 43" TV and futon capable of folding out into a full size bed with innerspring mattress. The dining room and fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need for home-made meals, just make sure you bring groceries as the nearest store is about 9 miles from here. If you can't find what you're looking for, have a cooking emergency or need a specialty appliance, reach out to us and we'll be happy to help as best we can.

While many people fear "mountain cabin" means old fashioned outdoor privvy, each of our cabins has a large, brightly lit full bathroom with a spotless tub/shower. Fluffy white bath towels, body soap, shampoo and conditioner are all provided.

At the rear of the cabin, there is a screened 12' x 12' back porch with outdoor dining space, adjacent charcoal grill and a much coveted private fire pit. Surrounded full by trees and arguably more private than the others, Cabin 7 is a short walk away from trails, gardens, berry bushes and our communal hot tub.

Guest access
Our property is located at the end of a dirt mountain road that, come winter, we recommend you either have 4WD or snow tires to traverse. Vermont mountain roads are not lit, so if you are uncomfortable driving them in the dark we recommend planning your arrival before sunset - which is regularly a quite beautiful thing to behold from here.

We like to describe our dirt driveway as being just long enough to leave your cares behind. You'll need to enable wi-fi calling on your phone BEFORE you lose reception to be able to make calls over our business class wi-fi, assuming you want to maintain contact with the outside world while here in our peaceful RFMC bubble.

When you arrive, check-in is as simple as pulling up to the parking space right in front of your cabin and settling in. We ask that you let us know you've arrived so we can swing by to greet you, but, beyond that, your time here is what you make of it. Just let us know if we can help you have a positively memorable stay.

Other things to note
- Your innkeeper hosts, Jaime and Chris, know the area intimately and are always willing to share their local expertise and advice to make your visit especially memorable.

- On the first morning of your stay, we’ll deliver complimentary homemade, fresh baked cinnamon twists to your doorstep, on a warming stone in a picnic basket. Our twists are the perfect companion to your fresh brewed cup of coffee!

- In our common area, "The Loft", you'll have access to DVD's, books, games, TV, trail maps/guides, area information as well as foosball and air hockey tables. We also invite you to explore and enjoy our trails, campfire pit, berry bushes, raised strawberry beds, frog pond and sledding hill.

- Please note that the 43" UHD Smart TV in your cabin is provided for DVD viewing or streaming from your own account. The TV in our common area offers DVD viewing and streaming from our Hulu account.

- Our outdoor 6 person hot tub is available 24/7 and overlooks our most picturesque views of Bread Loaf Mountain. Robes and beach towels are available just inside the door adjacent to the hot tub for your convenience. We ask our guests to please shower and refrain from including pets, glass containers or food in your relaxing experience.

- Laundry facilities, just a short walk from your cabin, are free and always open. Laundry soap is supplied.

- Our free dedicated business class wi-fi service is capable of supporting remote work and education needs and is available in your cabin and the common areas.

- Our tap water is “crystal clear” and “delicious” (guests’ words, not ours). We test our water regularly and conscientiously maintain a Vermont State Certification to make sure our guests feel comfortable and confident in drinking our pristine mountain spring water.

- Firewood is complimentary and plentiful. We ask our guests NOT to bring outside wood to help protect our forest from invasive bug species.

- A charcoal grill is located behind your cabin and a gas grill is always ready for use by groups gathering in our common area.

- Outdoor lawn games are available in the warm seasons and we are well stocked with complimentary snowshoes and sleds in a variety of sizes and styles for guest use.

- If you'd like a wheelchair accessible cabin, please search for our Owl's Branch cabin.

- Cabin 7 - Hemlock Hideaway is one of our pet-friendly cabins. Our pet fee is just $25/night for each pet with a 2 pet maximum. If you'd like to bring your pet(s), please make sure to add them to your reservation so that we can prepare your cabin appropriately.
