The space
Get away from the crowds this year. The Mouse House is sited is at the edge of the Cambrian Mountains miles from the nearest neighbours. With direct access to the Severn Way, the Mouse House is an ideal for location for couples looking to relax away from the madding crowd.
The accommodation is single storey with a large open plan sitting room and dining space heated by a log burner. The room has bi-fold doors leading to the deck and lake. It has a cinema size for TV with games console / Blu Ray player for those who want to relax in style. An extensive range of records can be enjoyed using the vintage Dansette record player.
The bedroom features a super-king size bed and has amazing views into the woodland which can be enjoyed with your morning cuppa. The kitchen, fitted to a high specification, is fully equipped to meet most culinary requirements. The bathroom has a spacious shower cubicle, heated towel rail, sink and WC.
You are welcome to enjoy the grounds that the Mouse House sits within, from cottage gardens, to meadow, small streams, the lake and the beautiful natural woodland, you can sit on the deck suspended over the reed beds and watch the ducks. A few yards away is a table and chairs for you to eat alfresco complete with firepit and barbeque.
Guest access
The Mouse House is an entirely independent living space and is yours to use and access completely. We are available on site should we be able to offer you any assistance but wish for you to enjoy the space and surrounding outdoor areas, scoop fresh eggs from the chicken house and potter about enjoying all that we have to offer.
Other things to note
The Mouse House is well situated to explore Mid Wales and beyond, you are ideally located to explore the mountains and the seaside to the west, taking in the Elan valley and the seat of the first Welsh parliament in Machynlleth. Rhyader and Builth Wells are within driving distance as are the Shropshire Hills to the East. Locally there is access to many beautiful walks, Golf, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Cycling, and Horse Riding. Our local Pub is well known for its award winning food, and we can arrange return trips from the pub if you would like.
The access lane to the property is a farm track, in dry weather it is a perfectly drive-able track however due to the fact that heavy machinery use the track, on occasion, we can be prone to pot holes. In the winter, whilst still safe the track can become wet and extra caution is advised, we are always on hand if needed (never needed so far) and it adds to the adventure.
Unfortunately, because the Mouse House is located on what used to be a farm we unable to accommodate wheelchair users.
