Charming 17th century cottage which sits on the village green, next to the fabulous village pub and only a two minute walk from the shop/post office and playground. If you're a fan of Midsomer Murders you may recognise the cottage and the pub next door which have both been seen in some episodes. The beauty of the green has attracted much filming over the years.

Location

Warborough, England, United Kingdom

From the mystical Uffington White Horse and the nostalgia of steam railways to the beauty of the Folly Tower and excitement of the bun throwing festival and Dickensian evenings, Southern Oxfordshire and Warborough in particular is a great place to visit!
With Oxford City on its doorstep, the village and surrounding area has something for everyone: there are stunning country houses, palaces and gardens to explore, local museums and inviting traditional pubs such as our own ‘Six Bells’. The unspoilt landscape of the Chiltern Hills, the River Thames, the Berkshire Downs and the Ridgeway provide rambling routes that pass cricket pitches, cross brooks and trace the footsteps of the Saxons, Romans and prehistoric settlers.
Warborough is situated approximately mid-way between the beautiful spires of Oxford (15 mins drive) and Reading (20 mins). The popular Bicester Village retail outlet is within a 30 minute drive as is Blenheim Palace and historic Woodstock.
There are many beautiful walks from the front door taking in Wittenham Clumps, the River Thames, the Abbey at Dorchester and several of the picturesque neighbouring villages. Boat and canoe hire is available at nearby Benson or Wallingford, or you could try your hand at punting in Oxford.
Alternatively, take time to relax in picturesque Warborough, with its beautiful green, cricket pitch, thatched 17th century pub and an array of historic buildings including our own; it is a true picture postcard. Stay a while and explore the neighbouring historical market towns of Wallingford, Henley and Abingdon with their mix of unique independent retailers and high street shops. Weekly farmers markets showcase the very best local produce and artisan wares from talented craftspeople. Many of the villages and towns have featured in films and TV shows, most famously Midsomer Murders, indeed our home and the adjacent properties (and pub) have been seen in a number of series. Take a self-guided tour of the towns to discover the famous buildings, filming locations and residents.
With a cosy escape from the winter cold provided by a fabulous log burner in the heart of our home, a year round retreat is provided for families or escaping couples. As the weather warms, the kitchen-diner with tri-fold doors offers open plan alfresco dining.
