53 Church Street was a corner shop for many years. It is approx 500 years old, and has been lovingly restored to create an unmistakably historic building with all modern comforts. From a four poster bed to a sleek, modern bathroom, from a beamed, cosy lounge to a characterful kitchen, and from a winding oak staircase to a breathtaking view of the spectacular Abbey.

The space
53 Church Street is directly opposite the historic Bell Hotel, so breakfast, lunch or evening meal are on your doorstep if you want to take it easy!
There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, cosy tea rooms & takeaways within easy walking distance of the cottage, including Italian, Indian, Greek, Chinese and traditional British
When you come in through the old shop door, you'll find yourself in a comfortable lounge/diner. Light and airy, with underfloor heating, a cosy wood burning stove and an absolute wealth of original features, it's an ideal place to put your feet up and relax.
Leading from the lounge is the fully equipped kitchen, and a winding oak staircase to the upper floors where there are 2 beautiful bedrooms, a modern bathroom, and unrivalled views of the magnificent Tewkesbury Abbey, which lies directly opposite the cottage.
On the first floor is the master bedroom where a beautiful c1920's four poster bed, period furniture and a crystal chandelier combine to create an impressive room which also affords our guests a stunning view of Tewkesbury Abbey
53 Church Street could be the ideal honeymoon setting, especially for a wedding in the Abbey
The bathroom is also on the first floor
Continue up the winding staircase to find beams galore on the top floor and a cosy bedroom which has everything you need for a relaxing nights sleep amid the rooftops of Tewkesbury
Also on the top floor is a landing area with one the best views of the town's wonderful Abbey church. Take time to sit and enjoy it, and imagine the many historical events which have been witnessed from the very same viewpoint
For bird watchers, a pair of binoculars are on hand and you may be lucky enough to see the Tewkesbury Abbey Peregrines:
