Buckley's of Dunolly, a former goldfields hotel, has three upstairs luxuriously appointed double bedrooms with queen size beds, one with private ensuite.
The upstairs breakfast room has coffee, tea, cereal, microwave and fridge.
The former ballroom is for exclusive use by guests, with television, comfortable sofas, board games and books.
We are situated on fifteen acres of garden and bushland.

The space
There were many gold rush miners on this property during the gold rush. There was even a hospital and a butcher on the grounds. Only bricks and rubble are left from the former buildings, but many fossickers still find gold in the district. We have echidnas and wallabies on the property as well as micro-bats, owls and shingleback lizards . It is a perfect area for star gazing as there are no street lights and lots of "big sky".

Where you’ll be

Dunolly, Victoria, Australia

This is gold detecting country and many visitors come to try their luck. Dunolly also has a swimming pool, post office, chemist, and antique shops. The Dunolly Bakery is very popular in the district. The Railway Hotel serves excellent meals. We are fifteen minutes drive from Maryborough with it's impressive railway station, museum and cafe. Heading north on a fifteen minute drive is the charming town of Tarnagulla. The tiny towns are well worth exploring and the remaining historic buildings give an idea of how populated the area was during the goldfields rush.

I retired from Melbourne in 2012 to the Victorian goldfields. Restoring the charming 1862 triple brick hotel is a labour of love. I am artistic director of our Dunolly Theatre Company, and my great interests are classical music, gardening, history and architecture.
