The space
It's officially Summer in the north country! The snow is gone, the grass is green green green, the garden flowers and bees are lifting us all out of our Coronavirus stupor! Come celebrate our freedom and the good life in the hills of Vermont! We have deep-cleaned the barn and make sure that every surface is disinfected before your arrival. Need to quarantine? We have plenty of toilet paper). Celebration of life in the North Country is happening (via take-out) from Stowe to the Mad River Valley, from Lake Champlain to the top of the Green Mountains, from Middlebury, Burlington, and Stowe, you can experience it all from our place. Great seasonal local wines, ciders and beers are on tap everywhere. Enjoy the incredible mountain views with coffee or drinks while cozy in the barn. Ask about a pasta lesson, cheese, chocolate, beer and wine tastings... Book a massage or spa day.
Our very comfortable and beautifully appointed Barn Apartment is surrounded by gardens and breath-taking views (and your own private patio) on 80 very private acres. Nestled high in the Green Mountains, Lincoln is a peaceful world apart, yet Middlebury College and all its cultural resources is 18 miles away. The charming Village of Bristol is 5 minutes, 20 to the wonderful little City of Vergennes, 30 minutes to Burlington International Airport. Montreal is 2 1/2 hours to the north, Boston 3 hrs. south.

We are very close to Lake Champlain for summer water play, as well as world-class skiing at Sugarbush, Madriver, and The Middlebury College Snow Bowl and Reichert Ski Touring Center. Stowe is an hour to the north. Hiking, snowshoeing, serious sledding, secret swimming holes, biking, and cross-country opportunities abound just outside the front door. Numerous great restaurants, artisan cheese and bread makers and several flourishing Farmer's Markets are open year-round.

It's a perfect spot for city-dwellers to kick back for a weekend in the country, or for putting up family members during Reunions, Parent's Weekends, Homecoming and Graduations at Middlebury College. Numerous Brides and Grooms have chosen the Apartment for their honeymoons. If you would like to have a Massage, Cooking Class, or an Artisinal Cheese Selection, we would be delighted to arrange it. Flowers for your special event? Please let us know how we can help you plan your perfect get-away.

There are plenty of places to get well fed and caffinated nearby. Bristol is home to the incomparable Bristol Cliffs Cafe and Bakery, and Snaps Diner. Dinners out are also a treat: visit with Chef Doug Mack and his wife Linda Harmon of Mary's at Baldwin Creek for fabulous locally grown everything (cooking classes!), or go to the Bobcat for a local Brew and Bistro Fare. Not to be missed either, are the sublimely French Tourterelle (Best Boulliabaise Ever), in New Haven, and the Vergennes Laundry for superb coffee and pastries, fresh oysters and sandwiches. Did I forget to mention Middlebury Chocolates, Daily Chocolate and lu.lu's small-batch ice cream in Vergennes, and all the local brews? So much more great food and drink, so little time!!!

We can acommodate two adults in a queen bed, and also have a double-bed as well for an extra couple or child, 35 dollars a night per person in the second bed. Fresh linens, fresh coffee, teas and snacks are provided by us. We have a refrigerator, microwave, convection oven/air fryer, and simple stove top for cooking and big farm sink for clean-up downstairs.

Canine friends are welcome only downstairs in the barn garage (the floor is heated and the space cozy), and are not allowed in the apartment. Bring kennel and or bed. Please be advised - If your pet cannot be out of your sight, the barn is not going to work for them!

Thoroughly affable, straight-forward Realtor with a background in the arts/museum. I love to cook for friends and wouldn't want to live with out good wine. Movies are an obsession as well, and my barn apartment is filled with great reading material and has wi-fi, but if you are the outdoor type, just walk outside for all kinds of sporting activities...Trails for hikers and bikers, ski-slopes, I am an avid gardener so the summer is filled with flowers as well as river swimming and boating on Lake Champlain. My motto? - "Living well is it's own reward".
