The room was exactly as described. Everything was working as exptected, nothing to complain on. The owners are very friendly and communicative people, they make sure you will not have any problems. I got to say two things though: WiFi speed is very low (not sure if its in this guesthouse or in whole city), its okay for text messengers, but definitely not for work. And also bike rental is overpriced here. Automated Scoopy cost me 18k per day, while you can rent if yourself at the cost of 10-12k, and bike condition was very poor, so I don't recommend it rent it here. Everything else was great, so I can definitely recommend this place to anybody.

I would like to say sorry that the motorbike was not good. But I'd like you to know that that is from rental company and we do not have motorbike rental and the price is they charge to the guests. Anybody can rent from outside and we just give our services to our guests. Also the wifi speed is for the whole city and we could not do anything for that. But we can use our Macbook or Sony laptop with nothing problems. I am glad that you enjoyed staying at our guesthouse and we will try our best to improve ourselves.

Su and rest of family and staff are wonderful hosts. They help arrange anything you want to do-so east. Breakfast is terrific and other meals (paid) are good too. If you are light sleeper, it was quite noisy outside at night on the street outside their fate while I was there so I used ear plugs.

If you appreciate a good bed, a hot shower, the comfort of a kitchen with good local cuisine and even bikes to use to explore Mandalay, and this for a fair price, this Ma Ma is a perfect choice. Great service!

The host was available when we arrived super early on an overnight bus from Inle Lake. We knew we wouldn't be able to check in right away but were pleasantly surprised when the room was ready an hour later!

I usually do not write a review. This is a rare occasion that I write. I would highly recommend this guest house. They will treat you as if you are in a high price hotel. I would recommend the fixed price dinner at the guest house. It is typical Burmese family dinner. More than you can eat and no MSG and freshly made. Breakfast was amazing. Served a large piece of water melon and Guava. They were so fresh. She will spend entire dinner with you sharing her experience if you like. We had to leave at 6 am to catch a boat to Bagan. At 5:50 two staffs were at my door to carry my bags to taxi. There was some confusion on calling taxi. She called anyway just to be sure we are on time. She send us off. How personal!! I call that service.

My friend and I stayed at the Ma Ma Guest House for two nights in early October 2016 and I can't recommend it more highly. Unlike most people who start their trips to Myanmar in Yangon, we started it in Mandalay. So Su was our first exposure to the wonderful hospitality of the people of Myanmar. The spacious room and the bathroom were spick and span, and had every amenity that we could imagine. The food was excellent. Su is very helpful with tips on what to see and do in Mandalay, arranging taxis and making travel arrangements. But what really got me were the thoughtful touches like the mosquito repellant coil that they had lit just outside our door in the evening to ensure that mosquitoes don't enter your room. Su, her family and staff are very friendly and quick with a smile, and always available to cater to your needs. The location of their guest house is perfect. It is situated on a quiet, clean street, and walking distance to the city's main attractions like Mandalay Palace and Mandalay Hill, with plenty of restaurants just a short walk or taxi ride away. If you're going to Mandalay, you can't do much better than staying at the Ma Ma Guest House, but you could do a lot worse.

I am learning the ropes of being a hotelier from my world renowned mother, Alice the owner of Peacock Lodge. Hope you have a pleasant stay with us.

P.S. I am trying to learn the piano! If you happen to know how to teach me, I'll be a patient student.
