Some info has been automatically translated.
Shuttaford Barn is a recently converted barn on a 16thC Dartmoor farmstead on the edge of the moors next to Holne and Ashburton. It is the perfect spot to explore the wilds of Dartmoor National Park, walk along the beautiful River Dart or head to the many South Devon beaches for the day. Or just relax in the peaceful surroundings of the barn and its garden.

In summer months we generally do Friday to Friday bookings. Please message us if you would like to book alternative days.

The space
The architect designed conversion has created a modern rustic feel to the space, reusing many of the original materials with vintage furnishings and a large double height country kitchen.

Underfloor heating runs throughout the lower floor to give a luxurious and homely feel on bare feet in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Large cast iron radiators upstairs to make sure whatever the weather the barn remains warm and cosy.

An en-suite kingsize bedroom and twin bedroom are located downstairs, along with a family bathroom (with a luxurious rolltop bath and separate shower) and large kitchen dining space.

A staircase leads up to the main living space which has a 'loft' feel, and another double bedroom with a built in bed 'nook'. The generous living room has a double sided woodburner and two seating areas, large rooflights provide a light and airy feel and a big opening window gives views out to the surrounding hills. We can provide a travel cot for babies.

Lots of books and games are provided for entertainment as well as TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and dvd player (and plenty of dvd's).

Guest access
The barn has it's own private hillside garden accessed via the private drive along the old apple orchard. This has a large lawn area, patio with chairs and table, a firepit and a 'secret' higher garden with deck chairs for a quiet sunbathing spot!

Other things to note
Travelling with kids? We provide a travel cot and stairgate but can also offer baskets of toys and childrens books to keep little ones entertained.

We also have a new games room located next to the kitchen terrace with table tennis, darts and table football!
