The original Gate Keeper’s house beautifully restored and converted into a pretty, self-catering cottage on Ardanaiseig’s grounds. This perfect self catering cottage is ideal for all seasons ......
Your hosts will take care of your every need. In the summer months why not hire a small motorized boat and go fishing on the Loch or perhaps try your hand at archery or clay pigeon shooting. In winter relax in front of a beautiful log fire.

We had one night in Rose Cottage which was charming although our stay had a few hiccups which I'm sure will be ironed out. It's a bit hard to find, but a really special, beautiful place and well worth the effort. Make sure you have directions as the phone/gps is patchy and do …

We were looking forward to staying in a quaint countryside cottage however we were majorly disappointed, the cottage was run down and dirty and there was bugs everywhere. There was used food in the fridge and the shower had bugs and spiders in it. We had to wash every dish before…

Response from David:
Dear Anya I'm sorry to read that you were so disappointed in your stay at Ardanaiseig Rose Cottage. I must be honest, i was rather taken aback especially that you thought it was so "creepy, dirty and old" when we received 2 x 5 star rave reviews the same week from two very happy guests who couldn't rave enough about the place. The cottage and manor house were both built in 1834 and one might think they have an airiness about them but this adds to the charm of the property and for our photography enthusiast the house and grounds make for fantastic photos, especially in the wooded areas. I have mentioned in the description of the property that the properties are filled with old, antiques as the owner is one of the largest antique dealers in the UK and all the pieces in the properties are from his collection. I checked all your points with our hosts Dave and Louise who advised me that when they popped round in the evening to check on you all that they had been told that all was fine. At no point were any of your concerns raised that they might have addressed them with you and perhaps in some cases rectified them. In response to the fact that there was "old food" in the refrigerator, that is not correct. Because we are so remote, we buy our breakfast items in bulk and pre-portion them into small freezer bags that are placed in your fridge, we infact provide a far larger selection of breakfast items than most properties and have been commended on this in the past. With regards to bugs ... you are referring to the Scottish Midge which is prolific at this time of year. It is probably the one thing about the Scottish summers that are not pleasant and leaving doors and windows open with the lights on will attract them in their droves, infact, even having doors and windows closed they somehow manage to find their way in to absolutely everything ... cupboards, drawers .... they really are a terrible nuisance. The Manor House certainly doesn't appeal to all, and "she" stands on the edge of the Loch after all these years steeped with stories and im sure a ghost or two, our owner would be delighted that the building stirred an emotion or two. If you felt the building looked creepy in the glorious Scottish sunshine, you should see her on a misty / cloudy day in the rain.

Beautiful little cottage! My favourite part is the fire in the living room, such a cosy feel and can sit for hours with it burning away at night time! Lots of beautiful scenery and walks right on your doorstep! Will be back soon.

Great little cottage house in rural location. Didn’t realize how remote it was until we started on the single-track roads. Host helped us reserve a dinner reservation at nearby pub, which was very welcomed by our hungry group. Good breakfast, although we didn’t know that there wa…
