PENRYN, FALMOUTH & BEYOND
You’ve arrived, unpacked and poured yourself a glass of your favourite wine…where to next? Take a peak at the local attraction information at your leisure (in the basket in the lounge). Friendly staff at the Falmouth Tourist Information, based on the Prince of Wales Pier, Falmouth will be more than happy to assist you further, however we’ve named a few of our favourites below….

PENRYN…
One of Cornwall’s most ancient towns, Penryn was once a very important harbour, exporting granite and tin to the rest of the country and indeed the world during the 15th Century Standing at the head of Penryn River, Penryn is a small, quiet town just 10 minutes from Falmouth with a large proportion of its buildings dating back to Tudor and Georgian times. The house is tucked away, a mile from the hustle and bustle of Falmouth, making it the perfect place to relax at the end of the day.

Enjoy a local Cornish breakfast on the water at Muddy Beach Café, Bar, Restaurant – positioned on Jubilee Wharf, Penryn Quay, just a 5minute walk from the house. Visit the local fishmongers Seaborne Fish, just 5 minutes walk from the house offering local caught fish.

YOUR NEIGHBOURING TOWN FALMOUTH…
Relax, unwind and take in the stunning views across Falmouth Bay, just a stone’s throw away from buzzing Falmouth Town, historic sites and tranquil beaches.

Uncover nature right on your doorstep and explore Cornwall’s dramatic and ever changing coastline. The house is perfectly placed for you to set off for a stunning coastal walk across several beaches. The most famous being Falmouths Gyllyngvase Beach (one of seven beaches in Cornwall to be awarded Blue Flag status). Enjoy a Cornish breakfast/lunch/dinner at the award winning Gylly Beach Café before heading over the cliff tops to Swanpool Beach. For those wanting to stretch their legs a little further continue the walk taking in the tranquil sites overlooking the estuary of the River Fal and on to Maenporth Beach and Cove.

Each of the local beaches host an array of water-sports for all the family, from lazy Paddle Boarding in the bay to exhilarating Kayaking tours up through the lush Helford River, to beach fitness and Paddle-Board-Yoga! (Enquire at the WeSUP Paddleboard hut on Gylly Beach)

Gym and tennis fans can pay for a day pass at the famous St Michaels Hotel & Spa, just opposite Gylly Beach, or sign up for a (not so easy) Beach Boot Camp session at WeSUP.

From Gylly Beach why not take a leisurely stroll up to the historic Pendennis Castle and enjoy a Cornish ice-cream over looking the panoramic views of Falmouth Bay, Carrick Roads (Cornish meaning "rock anchorage") and over to the fishing village of St Mawes. Or discover Falmouth’s maritime heritage with a visit to the world famous National Maritime Museum located on the harbour side, at the edge of Falmouth Town in Events Square.

The town offers a charming mix of shops and art galleries, enjoy a painting or pottery lesson or shop for local produce and Cornish gifts along the high street. Enjoy a jam-packed calendar of Summer events (Fal River Festival, Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival & Falmouth Classic regatta to name a few).
