The space
The Cowboy Room has a queen size bed, a dresser, a desk & chair, TV with cable and a covered balcony that is shared with the Gnome Room.

The Gnome Room has 2 twin beds, TV with cable, a chair and shares a covered balcony with the Cowboy Room.

There is a shared hallway bathroom just outside the Cowboy Room and Gnome Room.

Downstairs is a living room that is available for all our guests. There may be other guests on the property during your stay. In the house entryway is a table set up with Keurig hot beverages and filtered water, available 24 hrs a day. Muffins and homemade instant oatmeal cups are available for breakfast.

Outdoors are several sitting areas and a rustic camping style outdoor kitchen with basic cooking appliances that our guests are welcome to use.

Our playful cat Willow also lives here and may pop out to say “Hello!”

Our home is eclectic, country, relaxed and homey. We have chickens that freely roam the property. Our property has a wild, natural, laid back feeling. If you are looking for a sterile, manicured, pristine hotel environment, respectfully, this may not be the place for you! If you like roosters crowing, coyotes howling, stars shining, unique decor and a positive energy vibe, then you will love our place!

Guest access
Guests can enjoy the majority of our home, which may also be shared with other guests. Our private spaces are our bedroom, our family room and kitchen, which are clearly marked “Private”. Besides the upstairs bathroom, there is a powder room (toilet & sink) downstairs. You are also welcome to hang out in our Living Room, which is to the left as you go down the stairs. The back patio has tables and chairs and is a nice place to have coffee or sit and eat a meal you have prepared in our rustic camping style outdoor kitchen.

We are usually available for conversation or help as you need it. We enjoy getting to know our guests, but respect privacy as well.

Our house is located in rural Harbison Canyon, about 30 miles east of Downtown San Diego and about 20 miles west of Mount Laguna and the old mining town of Julian.

If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy seeing the stars at night, this is where you want to be! However, if you plan on seeing the sights of the city, a 3 mile drive will get you to the I-8 West freeway and then in about half an hour you’ll be in the heart of San Diego, famous for the San Diego Zoo, the beaches and Sea World. Or, head a few minutes east to get to the mountains and some great hiking trails!

Our friendly cat, Willow may greet you and outside our free ranging chickens can be seen thru a fence and sometimes having escaped...roaming the garden! We enjoy hosting & meeting our guests, love to travel, go camping & hiking, read, garden, paint, listen to music & eat healthy food. We enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere at home and when travelling.
